1Kawama Shokudo
Open at 8:00 a.m. Enjoy a leisurely morning with a view of the Kamo River.
A little away from the bustling city, on the south side of Gojo Ohashi Bridge. The restaurant is located between two rivers, the Kamo River and the Takase River, with a river view. The Takase River flows gently in front of the entrance, and a peaceful view of the Kamo River spreads out beyond the large window facing east.
The restaurant opens at 8:00 a.m., which is rare in the area. The two main items on the menu are the "rice burger" with a Japanese twist, such as "egg omelet and leek miso," and the "bucket sandwich" with mustard chicken, chili con carne, and other mouthwatering ingredients. Fruit sandwiches that can be enjoyed like dessert are also popular.
The artistic interior of the store, which recreates the Higashiyama mountain range, is also noteworthy.
The interior is also stylish, with white and blue as the base colors. The pictures on the walls were traced and painted by all the Staff/staff members from a photo of Higashiyama taken from the second floor of the restaurant. It is as modern as contemporary art.
The drink menu is extensive and includes gyokuro and Japanese black tea produced in Kyoto, as well as green tea and herb blends. In addition, wine and Kyoto craft beer are also on standby. It is nice to enjoy a leisurely afternoon drink.

2WIFE&HUSBAND
On a sunny day, take your coffee and head to the Kamo River. Have a picnic on the lawn!
Located near the Kyoto Botanical Gardens, the restaurant is on the banks of the Kamo River in a spacious field. WIFE & HUSBAND rents out picnic sets just a minute's walk from this spot. The owner, Mr. and Mrs. Yoshida, have put a lot of thought and care into this small treasure chest of a roastery café.
The picnic basket is filled with thermos bottles of home-roasted coffee, baked sweets, and other items. You can also rent antique chairs and tables that line the eaves of the store. On a breezy day on the lawn, or in the shade of a tree on a summer afternoon, you can enjoy a peaceful time with a cup of coffee in your hand. You can spend a peaceful time with a cup of coffee in your hand.
The transparent roasted "DAUGHTER" is the ideal taste that the couple aimed for.
A lampshade made of enamel, an armchair, a birdcage, and sheet music. A cup of coffee served in the store, which is furnished with antique furniture and tools collected by the couple, is also exceptional.
The coffee is roasted by her husband, Kyoichi. The signature blend is "DAUGHTER," which he describes as "an expression of our ideal taste. Although deeply roasted, it has a clean, clear taste and a rich aroma. It is a taste that makes you want to drink it every day. It goes well with his wife Ikumi's homemade cakes, such as pound cake scented with rum and steamed cheesecake that is as smooth as terrine.

3Arabica Kyoto Arashiyama
A roastery café with a borrowed view of Arashiyama's nature.
Watarigetsukibashi Bridge in Arashiyama. As you walk upstream along the Katsura River, away from the crowds of people heading to the tourist attractions, you will see a small house with an impressive tiled roof and glass facade.
This is the second store of Arabica Kyoto, a coffee roaster well known for its "%" logo. It is a takeout-only shop, but in front of it is the majestic Katsura River. Sitting on a bench in front of the store or on the riverside embankment, you can enjoy the openness of the café. While waiting for your order, the view over the counter is also breathtaking. It is as if you are in a glass tea room watching the barista prepare your tea.
Enjoy a cup of coffee while cooling off in the river breeze. The adorable latte art is also relaxing.
The attraction of Arabica Kyoto is the wonderful flavor of its coffee, which is roasted from green coffee beans purchased directly from "face to face" producers around the world. The most popular item is the "Cafe Latte. The depth and richness created by the original blend of espresso with a chocolatey flavor and high-fat milk foam is exquisite.
We also recommend the Uji green tea latte and homemade lemonade. There is also a small roasting machine in the store, and you can have green coffee beans roasted to your desired degree for home use.

4babbi gelateria kyoto
A summer-only treat. Enjoy Italian gelato on the Noryokozoko floor of the Kamo River.
Noryo-doko" is a summer tradition in Kyoto. This is a cultural experience in which people sit on the banks of a river or on a clear stream and enjoy a meal while cooling off. Although it has an upscale image, recently, more casual yuka (floors) run by cafes have appeared on the market.
One such example is the gelato specialty store of Italian-born wafer maker BABBI, which was founded in 1952 as a cone factory for gelato and is said to have an established reputation for making gelato. Take a break with a cool sweet while enjoying the panoramic view. It is the most luxurious time.
From blue sky to sunset, moonlit nights are also beautiful. The terrace seating inside the restaurant is also comfortable.
There are 18 kinds of gelato to choose from, including seasonal flavors. The specialties include savory pistachio, rich alfonso mango, and Okinawan kuromitsu kinako. All are handmade in the store every day according to the Babi family's recipe that "brings out the best of the ingredients.
The popular Amaou Strawberry is a mouthful of concentrated strawberry sweetness and aroma. Yet, it is smooth and refreshing on the palate. This lightness is the greatest charm of gelato. You can easily eat a double serving.

5murmur coffee Kyoto
A healing air pocket is found by the Takase River.
The Takase River flows gently along Kiyamachi Dori. In fact, this river is a shallow canal that was opened during the Edo period (1603-1867). In spring, the area is tinted pink with rows of cherry blossom trees, and in summer, the lush foliage is cool to the eye.
The cafe "murmur coffee Kyoto" is a place where you can enjoy this beautiful scenery to your heart's content. It is located near Kawaramachi Shichijo. When you open the door, the store is filled with the fragrant aroma of coffee roasted every morning. Even if it is your first time to visit, you will feel relaxed and at ease.
Try the thickly sliced toast with a crispy, fluffy texture, and the patissier's sweets!
There are three types of house blends: the mild and friendly "Marmer Blend," a deep-roasted coffee, and a fruity medium- to deep-roasted coffee. The coffee cups were made in collaboration with students at a nearby art college. The cups playfully depict local scenery from season to season, such as a bridge over the Takase River and a karesansui (dry landscape) in a scenic garden.
Thick slices of toast made with bread from a bakery established 40 years ago are crispy and fluffy. Fruit tarts and mini cupcakes handmade by the patissier are also delicious.

6Salon Royale Kyoto
A luxurious tea room you will encounter at the end of an alley
The Kami-Kiyamachi area along the Kamo River has a particularly serene atmosphere. Here, too, you will find "Salon Royale Kyoto," where an open-air noryokudo (floor for the cool of the summer) is set up during the summer. It is a store and tea salon run by a long-established chocolatier with a history of over 85 years in Osaka.
Enter a narrow alley from Kiyamachi Dori and go to the far end of the street to ....... The store is a bright, elegant space with a window facing the Kamo River that is flooded with sunlight. Inside the glass case, colorful bonbon chocolates, macaroons, and beautiful cakes are lined up like jewels.
Sophisticated chocolate cake with a light aftertaste!
There are about eight types of cakes. The "Chocolat Royale," a chocolate tart accented with pecan nut cream and exotic fruit jelly, and the "Chocolat Vanille," a classic, all show the ingenuity of the young patissier's sensibility in bringing out the various textures and flavors of chocolate.
If you visit between May and September, be sure to go to the Noryokudo, a traditional Japanese floor on a wooden deck. The view of greenery and the shimmering surface of the Kamo River will make you want to take a deep breath. Of course, the view from the seats in the restaurant, with its fine tablecloths and leather chairs, is also outstanding. The atmosphere is much more elegant.
