Both the exterior and interior are impressive wooden structures that evoke the atmosphere of the time when the restaurant was founded. From the tables to the tableware and lighting fixtures, you can feel the attention to detail everywhere.
The name "Shinanoya" was taken over from a buckwheat noodle shop in Kaneike-cho, Oita City, which had been operated by the grandfather of the current owner since the end of the Edo period. Dango soup, served early in the morning, is a popular specialty and a favorite among the locals. It can be crowded during breakfast on weekends, so it is recommended to leave well in advance.

The Property is a revitalized ryokan building built in 1897, with a hall and gallery, a café, and a store; the hall on the second floor regularly hosts events, and is a key location in Beppu where various cultural activities are held from within and outside the prefecture.
The books displayed in the café space are mainly related to Beppu and Oita Prefecture, providing travelers with a wealth of information. At the select store, visitors can purchase pottery and bamboo crafts from artists active in Kyushu, as well as homemade "hot spring confiture.

The cafe is located in a residential area near Beppu City Hall. Parking is available. The interior has a lovely atmosphere with various types of lighting and many dried flowers. With counter and table seating, the shop caters to a wide range of customers.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Beppu Station, this café is a hideaway that just opened in the summer of 2022. It offers carefully brewed coffee with each cup, as well as rice-flour sweets and other treats.
Visitors can sit in the L-shaped chairs along the wall and enjoy the quiet space with ambient music playing in the background. Since it is close to the downtown area in front of Beppu Station, it is recommended to spend time here to plan a meal or to think about travel plans for the next day and beyond.
