The soba restaurant located at the corner of "730 intersection" in the center of Ishigaki Island serves Yaeyama soba and local cuisine. There are table seats and a small tatami room, so it is popular among families. The homemade noodles made every morning are straight round noodles. The soup, based on pork and chicken bones, is made over two full days and has a refreshing taste, followed by the richness and flavor of the soup stock. The "Children's Soba Set," which includes mini-sized Yaeyama soba with french fries and a drink, is also attractive to those with children.
Three types of Chanpuru, including bitter gourd, are made with ingredients mainly from Ishigaki Island, and the secret ingredient is buckwheat noodle soup. There are also one-dish dishes such as "raftae" and "jjimami tofu," so you can enjoy a wide variety of island gourmet dishes.

Tingara Hammock" is a giant hammock with an outstanding view and a total length of 50 meters, which is a great joy for children. Families can lie down and enjoy a natural planetarium.

To explore Kohamajima at your leisure, we recommend renting a bicycle from the hotel. Adults' bicycles are electric bicycles, so you can ride comfortably on the island's many hills (children's bicycles are not electric-assisted). Let's go exploring the island with the whole family, with the wind in your hair.

The signature item on the menu, the Kohamajima Burger, features an original teriyaki sauce made with brown sugar from Kohamajima. The patty, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, and other ingredients are combined with the brown sugar sauce to create a rich flavor.
In addition to burgers, the restaurant also offers taco rice, brown sugar curry, and Yaeyama soba noodles, as well as Okinawan-style drinks such as pineapple and mango juice.

Enjoy the spectacular view from the island's symbolic mountain
It is a 10-minute walk from the trailhead to the observatory. On a clear day, you can even see Hateruma Island.
The highest mountain in Kohamajima, "Odake," is about 99 meters above sea level, and after climbing 300 steps from the trailhead, you will arrive at the observatory at the top. What catches your eye is the 360° panoramic view. The cobalt blue sea with the Yaeyama islands of Ishigaki, TaketomiIsland, Kuroshima, and Iriomote is a spectacular view that will make even children squeal with delight.
The monument inscribed at the top and at the entrance of the mountain is a folk song of Yaeyama called "Kohama-bushi". The lyrics of the song express the feelings of the islanders toward Mt.
Nishi Odake" on the west side of Odake is another popular view spot. It is lower in elevation and has only about 100 steps, so it is easy to climb. Let's enjoy a little mountain climbing and great view according to your family's physical strength.

Dinner on the beach is popular among families as they can enjoy their meal without worrying about their surroundings. When you open the basket, which is full of children's interests, you will find food, drinks, lanterns, leisure sheets, and a star chart, just like a treasure chest. After dinner, searching for the constellations is also an exciting experience.

Experience making shisa with your family as a memory of your trip
Experiences are available for ages 3 and up (preschoolers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). Making shisa, which inspires creativity, is fun and engaging for both children and adults!
After checking out early, you can try your hand at making shisa on the beach. You can make your own original Shi-sa by making parts out of clay and coloring them as you wish. You can take it home in a box, so if you display your unique guardian god with your family, it will be a memorable story of your trip.

About 70 stores line the two streets of Chuo-dori and Ginza-dori, a popular sightseeing spot in Ishigaki Island.
The southernmost arcade mall in Japan is located in the main area of Ishigaki Island. There are "Ishigaki City Public Market" which is the kitchen of the island, souvenir shops selling Yaeyama's specialties and famous sweets, and restaurants serving Yaeyama soba noodles and Okinawan cuisine. There are also many craft stores, and it would be fun to buy Yachimun (pottery) and Ryukyu glassware for the whole family.
The arcade is a great place for families with children to enjoy a leisurely tour without worrying about the weather. You can choose souvenirs for the whole family in the mall without having to move from place to place. When you get tired of walking, take a rest on the veranda or tatami room at the free rest area "Machinaka Koryukan Yuntakuya". To conclude your trip, enjoy the souvenir selection and island gourmet food at a leisurely pace.
