Founded in California, U.S.A. in 1919, the first restaurant opened in Okinawa in 1963. It is the only restaurant in Okinawa in Japan, and is nicknamed "Ender" by the people of Okinawa. The "Makiminato Store" on Route 58 is a popular photo spot with its retro sign. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor parasol seating, and can be used as a drive-in restaurant, where customers can order and eat in their cars without leaving their cars.
The specialty is "The A&W Burger," which bears the restaurant's name. The beef patty, brown sugar pepper pork, onion fries, and cream cheese make a great impact and taste. We recommend the combo with "Root Beer," a non-alcoholic drink made from about 14 kinds of herbs, and "Super Fries," French fries.

Feel like you're overseas in a resort town with an American flavor
Depot Island Boardwalk, a promenade along the ocean. The entire American Village is illuminated during the winter.
This amusement town stretches along the west coast of Chatan Town in the central part of Okinawa's main island. The town was created when the U.S. military base was returned to Okinawa, and everything here is colorful and pop. The town is reminiscent of the west coast of the U.S., with stores, restaurants, cafes, movie theaters, and a wide variety of Property and facilities.
At the center of the town is "American Depot," a select store that offers a wide variety of clothing and sundries imported directly from the United States. There is also a wide selection of secondhand clothing, and it is fun to look for rare items. Depot Island, the flagship store in the Depot Island area, and Depot Central, which will open in 2020, are a treasure trove of photo spots, dotted with vivid wall art and objets d'art. An exhilarating drive to the photogenic "Island of Love

A drive along the bridge leading to an island in the emerald green sea in the northern part of Okinawa's main island is like flying over the sea. 6 km in circumference, the island is dotted with beaches, observatories, and other recreational spots, and there are plenty of marine activities to be enjoyed. Kouri Beach, located at the entrance of the island, is a white sand beach with clear waters. Nearby is "Kouri Fureai Hiroba" with restrooms and showers, as well as stores selling local products and restaurants.
Kouri Island is also known as the "Island of Love" and is Okinawa's version of the legend of Adam and Eve. On Tinu Beach on the north side of the island, there is "Heart Rock," two rocks that overlap each other to form a heart, making the island a sacred place for lovers.

Located on a hilltop in Motobu-cho, this café has an excellent location overlooking the sea. After passing through a garden overgrown with subtropical plants, you will be greeted by a panoramic view. The view of Sesoko Island, Minna Island, and Ie Island will make you squeal with delight. Among the indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating equipped with hammocks is very popular. It is so comfortable that you might doze off.
The Asian-inspired food is prepared with ingredients from Okinawa and other seasonal bounty. The "Yanbaru Herb Chicken Gapao Rice" is a colorful dish of juicy chicken with basil, shiso leaves, and other herbs.

Enter the world of Okinawa's diverse sea creatures

The aquarium at the National Okinawa Memorial Park (Ocean Expo Park) in Motobu-cho is home to a wide variety of marine life (approximately 710 species), and the tour route from the third-floor entrance down to the first floor is like diving from shallow water to deep sea, giving visitors a realistic experience of Okinawa's ocean.
The "Sea of Coral," which is roofless and flooded with natural light, exhibits about 80 species of coral. In the "Sea of Tropical Fish," visitors will be soothed by colorful fish such as snappers and clownfish that live in the coral reef sea. The main exhibit is "Kuroshio Sea," one of the world's largest aquariums. The sight of whale sharks and southern blue manta rays swimming in a leisurely manner is a spectacular sight. The "Deep Sea" invites you into the mysterious world of depths deeper than 200 meters, and there are many other attractions to see, so please take your time to visit.

The contrast between the emerald green sea and the white sand is vivid. The beach was selected as one of the 100 best beaches in 2006 by the Ministry of the Environment due to the quality of the water, and is crowded with bathers during the swimming season. There are three beaches: "Beach for Fun," "Beach for Relaxation," and "Beach for a View," and walking around them is a pleasure. The view of Ie Island beyond the majestic ocean is also an attraction. The sight of the sun setting over the horizon and enveloping the entire area in red is breathtaking.
Near the beach, "Bise no Fukugi Namiki" is a photo spot with approximately 20,000 fukugi (Japanese butterbur) trees. Why not visit there as well?

Izakaya is a popular izakaya with a large window overlooking the sea. The menu includes a variety of Okinawan dishes that are perfect as snacks for drinks, from standard dishes such as "deep-fried gurukun" and "umi budou (sea grapes)," which are very satisfying, to slightly unusual local dishes. The restaurant's kesu, or fish pond, is a great place to enjoy freshly-caught seafood dishes. The variety of ingredients available from the kesu depends on what is in stock that day, and in addition to Okinawan seafood such as blue snapper, luminous clams, and giant clams, you may also be served lobsters.

Soba noodle (medium): 1,000 yen. Note the makai (bowl in Okinawan dialect) made of Okinawan soil.
The restaurant offers unique Okinawan soba noodles made with seaweed called "arsa" in Okinawa. The homemade thin noodles, richly kneaded with A-grade Okinawan artha, which is known for its smooth texture, have a strong texture and intertwine well with the aromatic bonito-based soup. The toppings are also carefully selected: kamaboko (fish cake) kneaded with the same type of artha as the noodles, and hokoro-hollow meat seasoned with sweet and spicy sauce, a secret recipe that has been poured over the meat since the establishment of the restaurant. It is a healthy yet satisfying dish.

A staple of sightseeing. Naha's main street
The street is also known as "Miracle Mile" due to its remarkable reconstruction after the war and its length of about 1 mile.
It is the largest downtown area in Naha City, Okinawa's prefectural capital, and a street representing Okinawa. The 1.6-km street is lined with souvenir stores, restaurants, department stores, and hotels, and is crowded with many tourists. Palm trees along the street add to the tropical mood. The palm trees along the street add to the tropical atmosphere, and the stores selling all kinds of Okinawan specialties and the latest goods are exciting not only to buy souvenirs but also just to walk around. Every Sunday from 12:00 to 18:00, the "Transit Mile" is held as a priority pedestrian street. Street performances, live music, and a variety of other events are the talk of the town.
Various back streets extending from Kokusai-dori are also worth noting. You will find nostalgic scenery such as alleyways and shopping arcades that retain a retro townscape.

After walking around the stores, take a break at the free footbath.
