Shoko Murayama
Dignified elder sister

She is a very reliable and dependable Aomoriya by Hoshino Resorts staff/staff member who is admired for her beautiful service manners. Her enthusiasm for her work is second to none, and she has a powerful personality that will go all out when she decides to do something, but she also has a tearful side that is kind to her younger colleagues. Recently, she has become addicted to buying coffee beans and studying how much hot water to use and how to brew them. She loves Aomori's sake and food, and is happy to share the good qualities of Aomori with Guest/customers.

Local Guide FAQ

What do you recommend (places, experiences, food) in the Aomori area?

NAMIKI is a handmade gelato store about 30 minutes by car from Aomoriya by Hoshino Resorts. They use rich milk from cows raised on their own farm and have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. Among them, we love the blueberry flavor, which is only available seasonally.
The rape blossom fields, sunflower fields, and zelkova tree-lined avenue just beside the store are beautiful, and you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery that changes with the seasons, so I highly recommend you visit.

Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.

National Route 279, also known as "Hamanasu Line," stretches along Mutsu Bay in Shimokita Peninsula, Aomori Prefecture. The view of Mutsu Bay from here is very beautiful. Especially from the coast of Nobechi Town, you can see as far as the Shimokita Peninsula, Natsudomari Peninsula, and Tsugaru Peninsula. When the conditions are right, Hokkaido can be seen together with Mutsu Bay, which happens several times a year.

Where did you travel to last year and with whom?

I went to Rangiroa Island in Tahiti with my classmates. As I was born in a snow country, the scenery, food, and plants were all new to me.
It was also the first time for me to travel abroad, and I became very interested in foreign cultures and at the same time I was able to reconfirm the good qualities of Japan.

What do you do on your days off?

I like to move my body. I especially like winter sports, and in winter I often spend all day on the ski slopes.
I enjoy alternating between alpine skiing and snowboarding, and this winter I would like to ski cross-country skiing, which I used to do when I was a student.

 Coffee
Is there anything you always take with you on a trip?

I will bring along some Aomori sweets, such as apple-flavored candies. I often talk to local people on my travels, and I give them to people I get along with. It is an indispensable item for travel, as it opens up another conversation from there.
