Located about a 15-minute walk from Iburihashi Station, Maruhachi Tea House is a Japanese tea specialty store known for its Kaga stick tea, which was established in 1863. The cafe, which is attached to the head office and factory, always offers six varieties of Japanese tea, including its signature product, "Dedicated Kaga Bocha," which is made from roasted first-grade tea stems, and "Kaga Hojicha," which is made from high-quality leaves, as well as sencha, gyokuro, and matcha teas. Bo-cha and hojicha can be enjoyed for two generous cups. The sweets that accompany the tea are "seasonal Japanese sweets" and "Kaga stick tea roll cake. They are elegantly sweet and go well with the aromatic and astringent flavor of the tea.

The cafe, with its relaxed Japanese atmosphere, is spaciously arranged with seats to create a relaxing space. The view of the garden as you savor a cup of Japanese green tea is a relaxing experience. In July 2019, a new hojicha teahouse, Sogakuken, will open next to Jisei. By reservation only, guests can enjoy three types of tea and a course of entrée to accompany each. Various types of Japanese teas are available for purchase at the store inside the building, making it a great place to pick up souvenirs.

Original sweet dishes made with a focus on local production for local consumption are popular

The sweet shop is located in the "Hazuchi Rakuraku-do" in front of the "Koso-yu" in Yamashiro hot spring. The sweet shop offers a variety of sweet dishes made with local products, including traditional zenzai and dango, as well as original milk soft serve ice cream made with milk from Hiramatsu Farm in Kaga City. Among them, the "Kusamochi Zenzai" is made with Hazuchi's original sweet bean paste cooked at Ren Eishodo, a famous store in Yamashiro hot spring. This popular menu item is filled with two hand-picked Kusa-mochi (grass cake) with mugwort, baked with binchotan charcoal, and the gentle sweetness of the red bean paste will make you feel relaxed.

The teahouse is built in the style of an old private house, and the view through the lattice window is full of flavor. The restaurant also has a sunken hearth, creating a nostalgic atmosphere that invites a sense of coziness. In addition to the sweet dishes, the "Local Sake Kizukizake Set" is also popular, allowing customers to compare a variety of sake representative of Ishikawa Prefecture.
On the first and third Sundays of the month from March to December, the annual "Hazutsui no Kawaichi (morning market)" is held. From 7 to 8 in the morning, stalls selling Kaga vegetables, handmade side dishes, and additive-free breads line the streets. Coffee is also available at the Hazuchi Tea Shop. It will be a great opportunity to meet the locals and make your trip memorable.

A community-based café in a small village

This old private house café opened in 2017 in the town of Takigahara, which has a population of about 180. The menu features galette made with buckwheat flour from Ishikawa Prefecture, as well as salads and soups made with seasonal vegetables from their own fields and the neighborhood. Drinks are also healthy, including seasonal juices made with handmade syrups and freshly picked herbal teas. Coffee is made from "STOCKHOLM ROAST TOKYO" beans, which follow the Swedish roastery style. It goes great with homemade sweets such as banana cake.

TAKIGAHAHARA FARM" started in 2016 as a project to revitalize old private homes mainly by immigrants in pursuit of a lifestyle with agriculture. TAKIGAHAHARA CAFE, a related Property, is also an old private house that has been restored and decorated by Staff/staff members to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In its own fields, the farm grows vegetables not produced in the town, such as kale and pak choi, and purchases other vegetables from the neighborhood, placing importance on community interaction. Near the café is the trailhead to Mt. Kurakakeyama, which rises 478 meters above sea level, and is full of nature. It is an oasis where people can get away from their daily lives and refresh themselves.

The name of the cafe means "happy hour" in French. The carefully prepared menu includes "forest cakes" made with plenty of dried fruits and nuts, freshly squeezed fruit juices, and other delicacies. The famous "Beef Stew Rice" is served only during lunch time. Japanese A5 rank Wagyu beef is marinated in red wine overnight and stewed until tender, creating a dish with a rich and delicious flavor. The dish is served over rice in a hot skillet.

The café is located at the entrance to Kakusenkei, one of Yamanaka Hot Spring's most famous scenic spots. The first floor is a calm space with table seating, and is available for both lunch and coffee. In the back of the store, there is a bookshelf lined with picture books from various countries and a sundries corner with works by local artists, where you can forget about time. For a relaxing view of the forest, head upstairs to the counter seating area. You will be healed as you savor sweets and drinks while feeling the breath of greenery.

This book café is housed in an 85-year-old townhouse. Visitors can enjoy snacks and light meals in a space surrounded by approximately 5,000 used books. The "Complete Collection of World Literature Jams," additive-free and colorless jams made by the female owner, are also popular for their names after famous works, such as "Kaga Bokuchan" and "Yuzu no Odoriko," a reference to the novel "Botchan. The jam can be enjoyed in the restaurant as a topping for cakes and toast. Except Saturdays, reservations for lunch must be made by the day before, and the menu changes daily. A popular plate using seasonal vegetables can be ordered from two people.

The female owner hopes that the café will become a place for cultural exchange that brings people together, and so she has an open style, welcoming visitors only for a tour of the interior. The cafe is decorated with sliding door paintings created by an artist for the store, and on the second floor, there is a collection of old tools, mainly tableware, that can be purchased. Books in the store are also available for purchase, so locals also stop by on a whim. As the name "Arecole" suggests, the café boasts an extensive menu of about 200 dishes, including pasta, pizza, Western-style dishes, meat dishes, rice bowls, udon noodles, and sweets, and is popular with a wide range of Guest/customers, including families in the area. The pasta recommended by the restaurant is a special product made with the same recipe as the authentic bistro located on the same premises. The "tomato cream spaghetti with migratory crab" is one of their specialties, using a large blue crab in a sumptuous sauce. In addition, you can taste local gourmet foods such as "Kanazawa Curry.
