In this area, where there is no shortage of sightseeing, you will find a wealth of indoor spots that you can experience only in Hamamatsu. Here are some of the most popular sightseeing spots where you can spend a fulfilling day even if it rains.

Eel pie" is one of the most popular Hamamatsu souvenirs. The "Eel Pie Factory" is a fun place to learn the secret of its deliciousness. The museum offers a "Factory Tour" (reservation required) that takes visitors around the factory while a concierge explains the production process, and the "Eel Pie Theater," which introduces the particular techniques of eel pie craftsmen, is also popular. Tours can also be taken freely, with no reservations required, so even if you just wander in on a sudden rainstorm, you can experience a variety of learning experiences and encounter new discoveries.
The Property also has an Eel Pie Café where you can taste original sweets made from "Eel Pie" and a factory store, which is also recommended for a break during sightseeing.

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force Hamamatsu Public Relations Center, or "Air Park," is conveniently located about 20 minutes by car from Hamamatsu Station and about 10 minutes from the Hamamatsu Nishi Interchange on the Tomei Expressway, making it a convenient place to visit for Direction. It is the only public relations facility of the Air Self-Defense Force in Japan, and consists of three Properties: the "Exhibition and Reference Hall," which displays valuable Self-Defense Force materials; the "Exhibition Hangar," where Self-Defense Force aircraft are displayed; and the "Panoramic Theater," which shows powerful images that will make you feel like a pilot. The "Panoramic Theater" shows a 20-25 minute movie six times a day. In the "Exhibition Hangar," actual aircraft of past Blue Impulse pilots and flight simulators are on display. Visitors can also get a close-up look at other rare aircraft, such as the T-2, the first supersonic advanced training plane developed in Japan.

After the tour, stop by Museum Shop Tsubasa, where you can find original cookies, crackers branded with aircraft, T-shirts, jumpers, models, and other snacks. Especially popular are the pin badges. There are about 150 types of pin badges, including flags of countries around the world, key chains, and the Battle of Zero, and their unique designs are exciting to look at.

The museum is located in Shijimizuka Park, about 3 km west of Hamamatsu Station. The museum introduces the tens of thousands of years of history of the Hamamatsu area through its rich collection of artifacts. When you first enter the exhibition room, you are greeted by a huge skeletal specimen of a Naumann elephant. The power of the specimen is nothing short of breathtaking. The exhibition room is filled with a variety of curiosity-inspiring exhibits of historical materials related to Hamamatsu, including a deer hip bone with an arrowhead from the Jomon period, rice cultivation tools from the Yayoi period, haniwa (clay figurines) from the Kofun period, the history of warlords from the Medieval to Sengoku periods, and various coins, including koban (small gold coins) from the Edo period. The museum also features interesting items such as the only copy of a letter with a seal of Ii Naotora, the model for the NHK historical drama "Onna Shiroshu Naotora".

Observe life in the Jomon period at the "Clammedzuka Ruins

The adjacent "Clamizuka Ruins," a nationally designated historic site, is the site of a settlement from the Late Jomon Period (approximately 4,000 to 3,000 years ago). It is one of the largest shell mounds in Shizuoka Prefecture. Visitors can observe the cross section of the shell mound through a glass window and see animal bones and pottery fragments among the countless shells, so why not take a walk in the park during a break in the rain?

Soichiro Honda, a native of Tenryu-ku, Tokyo, who developed Honda Motor Co. into one of the world's leading manufacturers of motorcycles and automobiles, established Honda R&D in 1946 and started out by developing an auxiliary engine for bicycles. Since then, he has created numerous best-selling products around the world, including the "Super Cub," and is often referred to as the "Edison of Japan. The Soichiro Honda Monozukuri Heritage Museum is a place where visitors can learn about the life of Soichiro Honda and the "monozukuri spirit" that still runs through Honda today.

The Property, which was renovated from the former Futamata Town Hall, a registered tangible cultural property of Japan, exhibits on the first floor a variety of materials tracing the path of Soichiro Honda, as well as a motorcycle from the time of the company's founding. Episodes with Soichiro Honda told by people with connections to him are also introduced, as well as quotes that provide visitors with an insight into the philosophy and thoughts of one of Japan's leading business leaders.
In addition, workshops and special exhibitions are held on the second floor from time to time. Although it is a cozy Property, it offers a world view of the Honda spirit, created by his unique personality and many statements that reveal his original ideas.

The Suzuki Museum of History is a Property that traces the company's history from 1909, when it was founded as Suzuki Shiki Loom Works, to the time when it became a world-famous automobile manufacturer. The museum is divided into two themes, "Automobile Manufacturing Today" and "History of Manufacturing," and visitors can learn about the history and fascination of famous cars through exhibits of automobiles and motorcycles, documents, and videos on each floor.

On the "Car Manufacturing Today" floor, there is a corner that introduces the actual production process, and a full-scale model exhibit that reproduces the assembly line is so realistic that visitors feel as if they are touring a real factory. In addition, there are a variety of Experience-type attractions such as a "3D Theater" and a "Flight Simulator.
The "History of Monozukuri" floor displays everything from the Suzuki loom that was used when the company was founded to popular cars of the past. Visitors can view many famous cars in a nostalgic atmosphere.
