Tunnel of cherry blossoms adds color to the approach to the shrine

This is a shrine associated with Shingen Takeda, located on the banks of Lake Kawaguchi. In spring, about 100 Someiyoshino cherry trees bloom along the main approach to the shrine, creating a breathtaking sight for visitors to enjoy from early to mid-April. The last day of the festival is the day of Nodate (outdoor tea ceremony) and other events. Visitors can enjoy viewing cherry blossoms with a Japanese flavor while drinking green tea.
The Yabusame (horseback archery) ritual held on April 29 every year is also well worth seeing. If you are lucky, the event will coincide with the blooming of the cherry blossoms, and you will be able to see people and horses galloping across the horseback archery range.

On the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi, you can enjoy cherry blossom walking with the dynamic sight of Mt. Fuji and the lake in the background. The walking trail along the lakeside is a popular hanami course. Along the trail, a row of about 200 Someiyoshino cherry trees stretches for about 1 km.
In addition, the "Fuji-Kawaguchiko Cherry Blossom Festival" is held every year in mid-April during the blooming season. In addition to food, drink, and merchandise booths, there is also a crafts market where craftspeople from all over Japan sell their works. Oshinohakkai, a popular tourist spot, is a spring-fed pond fed by subterranean water from Mt. Fuji. From around April 20 to Golden Week, it is recommended to enjoy it with cherry blossoms along Shinnasho River, which runs nearby. The walking path along the bank is peaceful, and about 200 cherry trees can be seen from near "Ogama Pond," one of the Oshino-Hachikai, to around Omiya Bridge, a distance of more than 400 meters.
The varieties include someiyoshino cherry trees, Fuji cherry trees (official name: mame-zakura), yamazakura cherry trees, and yae-zakura cherry trees, all of which are widely distributed around Mt. Fuji in the background, making it an excellent spot for photography.

Elegant competition between cherry blossoms in full bloom and a famous castle

Kofu Castle (Maizuru Castle)" was built by the order of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and part of the castle ruins are open to the public as "Maizuru Castle Park. It is a place of recreation and relaxation for citizens, and is also a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in the spring. About 160 cherry trees can be seen in the park, including someiyoshino cherry trees, which bloom from late March to early April, higan cherry trees, and weeping cherry trees. In spring, the grounds of Takeda Shrine are colored with approximately 20 cherry trees. In addition, the rows of cherry trees along Takeda-dori Avenue, which connects the shrine and Kofu Station, is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in the city. The rows of Someiyoshino cherry trees that stretch for about 2 km are a spectacular sight to behold. The best time to view the cherry blossoms is from late March to early April, but depending on the weather, they can be seen until April 12, when the Takeda Shrine Festival is held. On the day of the festival, a procession of portable shrines and 24 Takeda cavalry horses starts from the shrine and parades along Takeda-dori and other streets in the city. The combination of rows of cherry blossom trees and samurai in armor is a richly Japanese atmosphere.

Fuji, and is located at the foot of Mount Niikura in the northern part of Fujiyoshida City. With some 650 Someiyoshino cherry trees in full bloom in spring, it is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in the Kawaguchi Lake area. Many visitors come to the area near the Churyo (five-story pagoda), which is located at the top of the stairs in the park, to enjoy the cherry blossoms against the backdrop of Mt.
A recommended viewing spot is the observation deck just north of the Churyo Pagoda. Fuji over the cherry blossoms in full bloom from a spot about halfway up Mount Niikura, providing a spectacular view of the three elements that symbolize Japan. In recent years, a photograph of the view graced the cover of the "Michelin Green Guide Japon" and has become very popular among foreign tourists.
The Niikurayama Sengen Park Cherry Blossom Festival is held in conjunction with the blooming of the cherry trees, with stage events and booths selling food and beverages, making the park even more exciting.

Fuji from the front. Fuji Shiba-zakura Festival is held every year from mid-April to late May, where visitors can view approximately 800,000 shiba-zakura, one of the largest in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Shiba-zakura are perennial flowers similar to cherry blossoms, about 1.5 cm in diameter, native to North America that grow in clusters on the ground. The park features seven varieties, including popular varieties such as the dark peach-colored "McDaniel Cushion" and the purple "Orkington Blue Eye," of which there are only a few plants, and they are surrounded by a variety of colors such as red, pink, white, and purple. Fuji with lingering snow, Ryujin Pond, and the turf cherry blossoms all in one view from the viewing platform, making it a photo-worthy spot. Visitors can enjoy taking commemorative photos at their favorite spots.
During the festival, kitchen cars will be on hand to serve local delicacies from the Kawaguchiko area, such as "Shingenmochi soft rice cake" and "Coppa bread sandwiched with Yamanashi's Shine Muscat jam.
