A peek into the lives of living creatures in the city of Sapporo

This urban aquarium faces the Sapporo Raccoon Alley Shopping Street in the heart of the city. The space is created according to the concept of each floor, and in addition to exhibits of penguins and jellyfish, there are digital art exhibits of killer whales and whales, and the backyard is open to the public. The lighting throughout the museum changes brightness depending on the time of day. By creating a flow of time within the museum, a natural life cycle is created, allowing visitors to see the creatures in their natural state.

In addition, there are places to sit down and eat and drink anywhere in the museum. Since there is no sequential route, visitors can immerse themselves in observation of the creatures as their interests dictate, with breaks in between.

Exhibition spaces and workshop experiences that are child-friendly

We also recommend the Experience program for children, which is held every day. The content varies depending on the time of year, but you can enjoy crafts with a biological theme, such as pasting and coloring. Reservations are not required, so please come to the museum to experience these programs (a separate fee is required).

In addition, the LIBRARY AQUARIUM on the 5th floor is equipped with a step stool to make it easier for small children to see the exhibits, three diaper changing stations, two nursing rooms, and a kids' space. The museum is fully equipped with child-friendly facilities.

Sapporo Maruyama Zoo

Up close and personal with your favorite animals

The Sapporo Maruyama Zoo is located in the city of Sapporo, but is popular for its spacious grounds and ingenious Property. The zoo is divided into zoos for each animal species and region where the animals live, and there are many tricks here and there to please children.
The Polar Bear Pavilion, where visitors can observe polar bears from various angles, and the Elephant House, where four elephants live in a lively environment, are particularly popular spots. We recommend that visitors not aim to see all of the animals, but rather enjoy taking their time to look at the animals that interest them.

Touch animals at the Children's Zoo

The "Children's Zoo," where the animals are free-range, is a very popular area for small children. Visitors can touch the roaming sheep and walk with the waddling ducks, a unique zoo experience (depending on the animals' physical condition, they may not be out in the zoo).
Baby strollers are available for rent (for a fee), and baby seats and nursing rooms are also available for visitors with babies. The "observation rest house" facing Mount Saru has a rest area and a corner where children can play and learn.

Moerenuma Park

Refresh your mind and body surrounded by beautiful park art

Moerenuma Park," where the entire park was designed by sculptor Isamu Noguchi, features a beautiful landscape that blends nature and art. Because of its large area, renting a bicycle is recommended during the summer. Bicycles with baskets for infants and children are available, and many families can be seen cycling together.
The "Sea Fountain," a powerful water sculpture that shoots up to 25 meters, and "Moele Beach," a shallow water play spot, are perfect for cooling off during the hot weather. We recommend that visitors come prepared to play in the water.

Enjoy a variety of winter activities unique to Hokkaido

In winter, a sledding area appears on the 52-meter-high Moele Mountain, which overlooks the park. Sleds and snowshoes are available for rent (for a fee), so visitors can come empty-handed. The view of the snow-covered city of Sapporo from the hill is beautiful, so adults are welcome to join in the fun.
A walking ski course has been built in the park, making it a popular place to debut snow play and enjoy winter sports. It is also a good place to take pictures while playing in the snow, as it is spacious and not crowded with people.

SAPPORO BANKEI SKI SITE

A variety of activities for children of all ages

Sapporo Bankei Ski Resort, which is busy all year round, offers a wide variety of summer season activities. Among them, the campground, hand-held barbecue, fishing pond, and zip line are especially popular among families.
Authentic mountain bike trails are available for first-timers as long as they can ride a bicycle. Try the course, which is different and more powerful than the flat roads.
After a day of fun, you can enjoy Bankei's original soft-serve ice cream.

Experience skiing in a short 20-minute drive from Sapporo Station

In winter, you can make use of the convenient ski rental service. Even if you don't have ski wear, you can play casually, and since you don't have to carry much luggage, it will be easier to move around with children. Rental clothes and boots are available from 90cm and 15cm respectively (gloves and hats are not handled for rental).
Children as young as 2 to 3 years old, who are not yet ready for skiing, can enjoy snow play to their heart's content at "Wakuwaku Snowland" (fee required), where they can enjoy sledding and snow striders.

Odori Park

A park with a sense of openness that is hard to believe it is in the center of Sapporo

Odori Park, located between Odori and Sapporo Station in the center of Sapporo, is a long and narrow park stretching about 1.5 km in length. Although surrounded by buildings, the park is dotted with fountains, flowerbeds, and benches, and is loved by locals as a place to relax.
The area around Nishi 9-chome, where there is a large play slope and a waterway, is especially popular among visitors with children. It is a great place to play freely in the city and to take a break when tired from shopping or traveling.

A large park transformed into a seasonal event venue

Odori Park is the venue for Sapporo's seasonal events, and the entire city comes alive.
The Sapporo Lilac Festival and YOSAKOI Soran Festival in spring and Autumn Fest in autumn are all enjoyable for both children and adults. The Sapporo Snow Festival, usually held in early February, features ice slides and skating rinks and attracts many families.
The experience of touching and playing with snow and ice on your trip is sure to bring out new discoveries and interests. Direction to the TV tower and underground shopping center is also convenient for those who want to warm up after playing in the snow.

Daiwa House Premist Dome

Indoor playground equipment for babies and toddlers

Daiwa House Premist Dome, a well-known venue for sports games, is large enough to walk around, and the Property has a huge playground where children can move and play to their heart's content on the huge playground equipment.
Kids Park is a large playground complex for children from 3 years old to 4th grade elementary school. The theme of the park is "sports" and "fantasy," and it is full of exciting mechanisms such as a secret base for children to climb through and climb up.

Shiroi Koibito Park

A candy theme park like a toy box

Shiroi Koibito Park is one of the most popular tourist spots in Sapporo, where you can tour the factory of the famous Hokkaido souvenir "Shiroi Koibito" and experience making sweets. At the "Sweets Workshop Dream Kitchen," visitors can try their hand at drawing on cookies, a course that even small children can easily try.
Other attractions include a double-decker bus that visitors can actually enter and a photo spot with a panoramic view of the clock tower. If you want to take your time and look around, visit on a day when you have plenty of time to spare.

When entering the park, it is recommended to stop by the "Galvertown Pokke," a children's town with small stores and houses.
