This whisky was created in 1969, inheriting the founder Masataka Taketsuru's wish to "create a whisky with a richer and richer flavor that is different from Hokkaido Yoichi. It produces malt whiskey with a characteristic fruity aroma and grain whiskey with a mild taste. For the production of grain whiskey, the company uses the world's rarest "café-type continuous distiller." However, the old type of distiller was deliberately introduced in order to preserve the flavor of the raw materials rather than distillation efficiency. The distiller's strong commitment to authentic taste can be felt.

The underground exhibition room, which preserves and exhibits the remains excavated from the Tomizawa Ruins approximately 20,000 years ago.

The museum exhibits mainly Paleolithic period artifacts. Among the highlights are the remains of bonfires and forests left by Paleolithic people some 20,000 years ago. Both can be seen together in the underground exhibition room. The remains of the bonfires give us a glimpse of how people lived in those days, while the expanse of the forests reminds us of the natural environment during the Ice Age, and this is a space that tickles our intellectual curiosity. In addition, a video showing how people lived in those days is shown every 10 minutes. The images, together with the ruins, give visitors a more vivid picture of the period.

On sunny days, a walk through the outdoor exhibit "Ice Age Forest" is also recommended. It recreates the environment of the Paleolithic Age, when the average annual temperature was 7 to 8°C lower than today, and is planted with trees, plants, and flowers that are close to extinct species. Enjoy a moment surrounded by the nature of that time.
