1Kaiseki Cuisine Hanadan
Authentic kaiseki courses served in an elegant building associated with the imperial family
Gora Hanadan is a luxury hot spring hotel located on the site of the former Kannin-no-Miya villa. The Restaurant, located in a classical Western-style building on the premises, offers a beautiful kaiseki lunch. The restaurant's extraordinary attention to quality ingredients is reflected in the taste, with fresh seafood from Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay, as well as from all over Japan, being procured. The menu changes monthly, and all the dishes are wonderfully sophisticated, with an awareness of the "firsts, seasons, and lasts" of the ingredients. There are six types of kaiseki dishes to suit every taste and budget. There is also a "children's set meal" featuring hamburgers, fried shrimp, and other dishes, making it a perfect place to visit for family anniversaries.
A space that exudes elegance and invites a glamorous mood.
The building was built in the early Showa period (early 20th century) as a summer residence for Prince Kotohito of Kanyinomiya. The exterior is in the half-timber style, which retains the atmosphere of medieval Europe, and the interior is in the Art Deco style of the early 20th century. The dining room, where dinner parties were held in the past, and the mansion's various private rooms are filled with elegance and grace. The greenery and autumn leaves outside the windows are like a picture in a painting, enhancing the charm of the seasonal dishes.
Located close to the Sculpture Forest Museum, this restaurant is a must-visit before or after sightseeing.

Wooden interior that blends in with the natural beauty of Gora
The mellow craft beer brewed in-house is also on the menu, along with the food, and among the four types of beer available, we recommend the "Amber," which has won gold in international beer competitions. Its beautiful golden color, fine bubbles, and fruity flavor go perfectly with the food. It is also nice to know that all drinks, including beer, are only 500 yen at lunch time.
The building and stone garden with its wood textures were designed by a leading Japanese architect. You will find a special atmosphere and cuisine that will make you want to visit again.

3Yamahiko Sushi
Kaisendon," a bowl of rice topped with a variety of fresh local fish, is served at the restaurant directly managed by a fresh fish restaurant.
Located between the popular tourist destinations of Miyanoshita and Sengokuhara, this sushi restaurant is tucked away in an alley off Route 138. The restaurant was opened in 2002 by a local fresh fish restaurant that has been in business for about 70 years, and the fish items are outstandingly fresh. The recommended lunch-only menu item is the "Kaisen-don," a bowl of rice topped with about 10 different types of fish. You can enjoy a full bowl of local fish, including freshly caught whitefish and bluefish landed in the morning at the local Sagami Bay. If you prefer nigiri, try the "Yamahiko Nigiri," an eight-piece dish that includes tuna toro and conger eel. Quantities are limited, so we recommend coming early.
Relax on the tatami mats in the cozy atmosphere.
Other dishes on the menu include maki rolls and a la carte dishes such as "kamayaki tuna. The sushi and dishes are prepared by the chef, who trained in Tokyo and other cities and has 35 years of experience in this field. It is a pleasure to sit at the counter with a sunken kotatsu and enjoy your meal while watching the chef's skillful knife work. There are six seats at the counter and four tables in the tatami room. You can take off your shoes to sit at either table, making you feel at home.
The restaurant also sells dried fish, making it a great place to purchase delicious souvenirs while enjoying your lunch.

Hitsumabushi, a Japanese beef steak with tender and satisfying meat
The restaurant is a hideaway in Sengokuhara, a neighborhood dotted with art spots. A must-try for lunch is the "Japanese Beef Steak Hitsumabushi," a dish that is both original and delicious. The meat is purchased directly from a contracted meat wholesaler. The key to the juiciness of the meat is to let the juices settle by steaming it for about five minutes. The meat is then steamed for 5 minutes to let the juices settle, which is the key to its juiciness.
