Located near the West Pier, this long-established Restaurant has been in business on TaketomiIsland for 30 years. You can enjoy Yaeyama soba, rafte-don (rice bowl with vegetables), and other dishes. The most popular menu is "Asahi A Set". It is a hearty menu of handmade dishes such as fried shrimp, hamburger steak, and fried chicken meat, served on one plate with rice and mini salad. The crispy, savory fries and fluffy, juicy hamburger steak are very satisfying. The mini Yaeyama soba (buckwheat noodles) is served instead of soup, which is also a nice point.

Located near Taketomi Post Office, this is the largest Dining Area on the island. You can enjoy hearty dishes made with local ingredients and handmade. A long-established soba restaurant in business for 45 years, dedicated to Yaeyama soba
Located near the West Pier, this long-established Yaeyama soba restaurant was established in 1975. The most popular dish is "Soki Soba" topped with tender Soki. The soup is delicious and you will want to eat it all. The soba soup is made from chicken bones and tonkotsu (pork bone) and cooked over wood. The pork used in the "Soki Soba" and the "Sanmaichiku Soba" is also carefully prepared over a long period of time. You can feel the care that has gone into every aspect of the restaurant. The flavor of the broth can be enhanced by applying "piyashi" (island pepper), which was passed down from the previous generation's grandmother.

There are also about 15 different dishes on the menu that are uniquely Okinawan. The "Island Vegetable Curry" is made from a variety of freshly picked vegetables that are full of life and vitality from the islands, such as nigana and naganegusa picked in front of the restaurant, as well as island pumpkins, eggplants, and papayas. The only place on the island where you can enjoy the view of the village from the second floor
It is the only store on the second floor in TaketomiIsland, and the red-tile-roofed village spreads out outside the window. A café-restaurant that operates irregularly in the dining room of Uchimorisou, a guest house run by a third generation couple, is popular for its warm hospitality. At the café, you can enjoy the owner's freshly baked pizzas and pastas. You can choose from several kinds of pasta and pizza. The pizzas are thinly baked and crispy. The menu changes with the seasons, such as the cream pasta with seekwerser in summer. There are also Okinawan-style dishes such as "chanpuru," which is served at the guest house.
The restaurant was renovated in 2019 and has a warm wooden interior.
Uchimori-sou has been loved as a guest house for over 40 years. Utsuriya" means the owner's family name "Uchimori" in the language of TaketomiIsland, and was reopened in 2019. It is built in Ryukyuan architecture in accordance with TaketomiIsland's townscape ordinance. After taking off your shoes, you will feel the comfortable feeling of smooth wood and the open ceiling inside the store. This café-restaurant operates irregularly in the dining room of the Shochiku-so guest house. The owner, a native of the island who has worked for many years in French Restaurants and hotels, opened the restaurant several years ago. You can enjoy an authentic Western-style menu. The one-plate lunch consists of a meat, fish, and vegetable dish on a single plate, served with soup and bread baked in the restaurant. Coffee or tea is served after the meal. You can also enjoy pasta dishes such as tomato cream pasta using prawns from TaketomiIsland and peperoncino using peyashi, a vegetable grown on the island.
Taste freshly baked bread once a week on "Bread Day".
The inn has a typical TaketomiIsland entrance with beautiful bougainvillea. Lunch is served in the inn's dining room, so you can spend time as if you were staying at an island house. Lunch hours are irregular, so please call in advance to confirm.
Cafe Fubura also sells bread baked in the store every Thursday. This is the only place in TaketomiIsland where you can buy freshly baked bread once a week, so why don't you come and visit?

Yaeyama soba noodles at the oldest restaurant in TaketomiIsland
A long-established soba noodle shop located at the edge of the west village. Although it is not well known due to the fact that it does not actively advertise, it has been loved by the islanders for many years. The soba with plenty of prawns from TaketomiIsland is exceptionally tasty, with the umami of the prawns added to the robust broth. The prawns are cultivated on TaketomiIsland and are prepared for Yarabo's prawn soba. The period of time they can serve it depends on the amount of prawns harvested. The volume of the dish is generous, as the owner hopes that customers will eat a lot of it.
Warm interior with handmade furniture and accessories
Simple Yaeyama soba and long-cooked Soki soba are also popular. yarabo's Yaeyama soba, which has been served since 1973, is a delicious dish with a pork bone broth base combined with bonito stock and island soy sauce. The island pepper piyayashi is prepared with a little bit of a rough chop.
Yarabo" refers to the terihaboku tree used for windbreaks on the island. Inside the restaurant, there is a table that looks like a stump made of Yarabo wood.
