What do you recommend (places, experiences, food) in the area?: Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden. It is a botanical garden commemorating Dr. Tomitaro Makino, the "father of plant taxonomy" who was born in Kochi Prefecture. The botanical garden offers visitors a chance to see a wide variety of plants in a more natural setting, with approximately 3,000 species of plants displaying their beauty in each of the four seasons. The Property is located on Mt. Godaisan, and the "Konkonsan Plaza" in the park is particularly scenic and is an area where you can eat and drink, so it is recommended to bring a packed lunch on a fine day.

Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.: European Cuisine "Monte" is a Restaurant that has been in the city for about 40 years. The retro Showa-era interior and extensive menu. It is always full of customers during lunch time.

Tell us about your most memorable trip, with whom and where you went!: On my first trip abroad, I went to Guam on a company trip when I was in my 20s. I fully enjoyed dinner on the ship, marine sports, and golf. In Japan, I have fond memories of visiting Kaiyukan and Kobe City with my wife. I also visited Hitoyoshi City in Kumamoto Prefecture with my wife to support the recovery from the natural disaster. I was deeply moved by what the landlady of a long-established ryokan (Japanese inn), which had reopened, told me about the situation at the time of the disaster and the efforts being made toward reconstruction.

What do you do on your days off?: We spend our time driving to various places. I visit places of scenic beauty and stores that interest me. I also visit zoos and museums, and sometimes go on outings (outside the prefecture).
