There are many picturesque cherry blossom viewing spots, such as Shibayama Lagoon and Natadera Temple, which look up at Mt. Here are some tips for enjoying cherry blossom viewing in Kaga, including the best time to view the blossoms, varieties, and events held in conjunction with the blooming.
1Ouhinomiya Park
Take a stroll and enjoy cherry blossom viewing in Kaga's best hot spring town.
This park is located near Yamashiro hot spring, which boasts 1,300 years of history since its opening, and is home to the Daishoji Temple (Daigan Shrine), which is enshrined against the Daishoji River. The park is planted with approximately 200 cherry trees, including Someiyoshino cherry trees that form a pink-colored tunnel leading visitors into the park, and Yaezakura and Shidare-zakura cherry trees that bloom in layers, which have long been popular among residents and hot spring visitors.
The small shrine, which stands quietly in the park, is in full bloom when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and also when the cherry blossoms are in leaf, when the petals are falling and fresh greenery is gradually spreading. The cherry trees lining the riverside are also a great place to enjoy a leisurely stroll while listening to the murmur of the river.
Usually in early April.
Best time to see the cherry blossoms: Usually in mid-April.

Nearby are the Jisei-in Temple (Hagi Temple), Kaga Shinmei-gu Shrine (Yamashita Shrine), and other temples under the mountain, as well as the Ishikawa Kutani Pottery Museum and Enuma Shrine Garden, offering a variety of attractions.
On the second Saturday and Sunday of every April, the Daishyoji Cherry Blossom Festival, an annual festival at Kaga Shinmyougu Shrine, is held. Stalls line the approach to the shrine, and floats and lion dances parade through the town, adding to the excitement of the long-awaited spring season.

5Natadera Temple
Cherry blossoms in full bloom stain an ethereal rocky mountain temple
An ancient temple founded in 717 by Taicho Houshi (a Buddhist priest) that conveys today the Hakusan faith of paying respect to nature. The temple grounds are home to a number of important cultural assets, including "Kiiwa Yusenkyo," a nationally designated scenic beauty spot, as well as the "Tainai Kuguri" experience, in which visitors can walk through a cave at the back of the main shrine to feel the rebirth of their souls. HOSHINOYA has been awarded one star in the "Michelin Green Guide Japon," a rating system for tourist destinations that allow visitors to experience the richness of nature and diverse cultures.
About 100 cherry trees adorn the grounds of the temple, including weeping cherry trees that adorn the majestic Kondo Kao-den Hall, old trees that nestle against the rock face of the strange rock formation of Yusen-ji, and someiyoshino cherry trees that spread their branches along the shore of the pond in the back of the temple. The cherry trees that bloom and fall with the seasons and take on new life seem to teach us about the wisdom of nature and the reincarnation of the soul.
In addition to cherry blossoms, rhododendrons, azaleas, narcissus, and mizubashou can be enjoyed from season to season.
Flowering season: Usually in early April.
Best time to see cherry blossoms: Usually in mid-April.

6Kiba Lagoon Park
A corridor of approximately 1,700 cherry trees decorating the natural beauty of Suigo
This urban park is the only one in the prefecture that makes use of the natural beauty of Kiba Lagoon, which was not reclaimed by land reclamation. Centered on the Kiba Lagoon, the park consists of the North Park, South Park, West Park, and Central Park, which are connected by a 6.4-km path around the park.
Part of the parkway was originally home to cherry trees known as "Senbonzakura," and in the fall of 2018, more trees were planted, connecting the entire parkway with a corridor of cherry blossoms. The number of trees planted is the largest among the parks in the prefecture at approximately 1,700, making it well worth seeing. The North Park to the West Park offers a beautiful view of the Kiba Lagoon, rows of cherry trees, and Mt. The "Kiba Lagoon Park Cherry Blossom Festival Walking" is held on the first Sunday of April in the central park, featuring local gourmet foods and a music stage. During the period before and after the festival, the cherry blossoms are lit up and can be enjoyed at night.
