PET-SPA Karuizawa

There is a grass dog run in the Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza adjacent to Karuizawa Station, and the pet salon PET-SPA Karuizawa is located in the same area.
The store is equipped with trimming, goods, food, and a pet hotel, and it is convenient to leave your pet while shopping in Prince Shopping Plaza or during a trip. Prices vary depending on the size of the dog and other factors, and there are three types: short stay (1h-3h), one-day stay (opening to closing), and hotel (24-hour service). Shampooing and trimming are also available during the stay. A rental cart for pets is available for use inside the building so that you can shop with them.

Various care menus are also available.

The care menu is extensive, including trimming, shampoo cutting, and nail trimming. The store also sells original dog food, pet treats made from Shinshu ingredients, clothes, leashes, and toys. This is a store you can rely on if you have any problems with your pet while traveling in Karuizawa.

Trick Art Museum Karuizawa

Trick art and objet d'art that change in appearance depending on the angle you look at them. It is an interesting experience to take trick photos in a museum full of tricks. At the photo points, there are markers at your feet to show you where to stand and instructions on how to pose, so it is easy for anyone to take trick photos.

Each floor has a variety of photo spots in accordance with different themed exhibitions, such as "The Magic Zoo" and "World Masterpieces of Painting and Masterpiece Sculptures.

Pets are allowed in the entire building

Pets are also allowed to enter the museum, so they can go anywhere in the museum with you. Trick photos can be taken with pets at photo points, making them ideal for commemorative photos. You can also enjoy a meal together in the café space.

The café also has a kids' space, complete with diaper stand and nursing room, so feel free to spend time with your children. (The diaper stand and nursing room are available only for museum visitors.)

DOG DEPT GARDEN Karuizawa

Along Karuizawa's Prince Street, about a 7-minute drive from Karuizawa Station, is the Dog Depot Garden Karuizawa, which has a large dog run surrounded by trees. The dog run features wood chips laid out on the ground. There is also a covered dog run that is a little small for large dogs to run in, but large enough for small dogs to run around in, allowing them to play even on rainy days.

After letting your dog play in the trees, you can refresh him in the hot showers for dogs only. Water is provided as a service, so you can spend your time in peace. You can also look forward to shopping at the store, which is well-stocked with dog goods.
Hot showers are not available in winter.

The restaurant features a large fireplace

The café and restaurant are located in a villa-like building, with 40 seats in the high-ceilinged restaurant and 42 seats on the spacious terrace. There is also an original menu exclusively for pets, so you can enjoy a meal together. There is a large fireplace in the Restaurant with a cozy wood-burning fireplace.

Experience events that match Karuizawa's seasons and parties held for different types of dogs are held several times a month, so it is fun to check out and participate in them.

Karuizawa Town Botanical Garden

The town of Karuizawa is located on a plateau at an altitude of around 1,000 meters. It has a cool climate with low average temperatures throughout the year. The Karuizawa Botanical Garden has about 1,600 varieties of trees, plants, and flowers in 145 families, planted in springs, wetlands, and sloping areas. Pets are allowed in the garden, so you can enjoy walking around with your pets.

Rest areas are also scattered throughout the building

Observation pathways are provided throughout the park, so visitors can observe Karuizawa's plants and trees in their natural state each season. Since it is a small botanical garden, it is a recommended spot to take a break at the rest area or Azumaya and feel the nature of Karuizawa in a relaxed manner with your pet.

Yukawa Furusato Park

Located in Nakakaruizawa, this sprawling grassy park overlooks Mount Asama. The promenade along the lush green Yugawa River is also a great place to take a walk with your pet.
A part of the park is divided into a dog run for large and small dogs, with double doors at the entrances. There is a wash area near the entrance, so even if your dog gets muddy from playing, you can clean the dirt with water.

The dog run is about 1,600 m2 in size and is located in a grove of trees, so it is cool and shaded, allowing dogs to run around to their heart's content. The dog run is clean and well maintained, and since it is operated by the town, it is free of charge. It is a recommended place to stop by when you come to Karuizawa.

Onishidai-en

Onishidashien, created by lava from the eruption of Mount Asama about 240 years ago, is a spot where you can feel the threat of nature. It is a scenic spot where spectacular works of rock art are spread out.
Visitors can enjoy the changing seasons: alpine flora in spring, cool weather in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snowy scenery in winter.
Pets are allowed in the Asama-Hokuroku Geopark area, including Onishidaien, where you can take a walk with your dog while admiring the scenery. There is a water station for pets in the park. Not available in winter.

Onishi dog run

The 4,400 m2 "Onioi Dog Run" (fee required) is surrounded by forest directly opposite the lava rock area at an elevation of 1,300 m. The wind blowing in the shade of the trees is refreshing.
The breeze blowing in the shade of the trees is refreshing, and dogs can play safely on the all- grass lawn, which is also great for dogs.
The area is divided into areas for large dogs and small dogs, with double doors at the entrances and washing stations.
Water is not available during the winter.
