I want to visit while driving around! Recommended spots for women's trip in Atami
When planning a tour of Atami with friends, a car gives you an even wider range of activities. Here are some recommendations to expand your enjoyment of Atami, including hot springs, sightseeing spots, and famous restaurants for lunch that you can stop by during your girls' trip by car.
1Japanese Dining Aji Aji
Ajiro Fishing Port, a 20-minute drive from Atami Station, is said to be the best natural fishing port on the Izu East Coast, where you can catch not only horse mackerel and squid, but also yellowtail and sometimes even tuna. The owner goes to the market every morning at 3:00 a.m. to look at the day's fish and decide on the menu, which is why you can enjoy the freshest and most delicious dishes.
The lunch menu always includes an assortment of fresh sashimi and a very satisfying selection of dishes using the best ingredients of the day, such as boiled and fried fish. In the evening, three courses are available for 3,000 yen, 4,000 yen, and 5,000 yen. Fresh vegetables add color, and there is a wide selection of shochu and sake to complement the dishes.

2ACAO FOREST
Taking advantage of the hilly terrain of Nishikigaura, a 15-minute drive along the coast from Atami, the garden is composed of 12 unique gardens with the sea as a backdrop, creating a beautiful and magnificent landscape in each garden. To harmonize with the landscape, the garden is planted with old roses, English roses, and vine roses. A dedicated shuttle bus runs conveniently around the spacious garden.
Take a stroll through the English Rose Garden, the Valley of Roses, the Climbing Rose Garden, and other rose gardens, enjoying their diverse expressions. In spring, we recommend visiting the "Atami Cherry Blossom and Rape Blossom Garden" where about 150 cherry trees and fields of rape blossoms spread out against the backdrop of Sagami Bay. There are also stores, restaurants, and a hands-on herb workshop.

4Kiunkaku
Built as a villa in the Taisho era (1912-1926), it was reborn as a ryokan (Japanese inn) in 1947 (Showa 22) and was one of Atami's representative inns. It is now a Tangible Cultural Property of Atami City and has been open to the public since 2000, serving as a center for culture and tourism in Atami City. The main building, a Japanese-style building, a detached building, a Western-style building, and a garden designed by Kaichiro Nezu, a tea master and owner of the property, are all located in downtown Atami, but here one feels as if a different time is passing by.
During the period when the inn was operated as a ryokan, great writers such as Naoya Shiga, Junichiro Tanizaki, and Osamu Dazai frequented the inn and their materials are on display in the room.
