Enjoy with your family! Recommended Experience Activities in Hamamatsu

Hamamatsu has many leisure properties that allow visitors to fully enjoy themselves on Lake Hamana, as well as many other Activities that can be experienced easily. There is also a wide variety of activities such as fruit picking where you can taste the bounty of the season. Here are some recommended spots with a wide variety of activities that can be enjoyed even with children.

Hamanako Imagiri Park is located at the border of Lake Hamana and the Enshu Sea (Pacific Ocean) at Imagireguchi. Within the park is the Arai Benten Kaizuri Park, which has five T-shaped fishing dikes jutting out into the lake.
During the fishing season from spring to fall, the park is crowded with anglers from beginners to experts. The tides are swift, so it is important to assess the conditions on the lake and decide where to fish. Horse mackerel, sea bass, kisses, flounder, kingfish, and mebaru can be caught here, and depending on the time of year, octopus and the black sea bream, a favorite of anglers, can also be targeted.
There is also a barbecue area attached to the site, so we recommend enjoying fishing before or after a barbecue as a main activity.
The Imagiri Experience Village Umikokan, where visitors can experience crafts, is also located next door. In winter, the oyster hut set up in front of Kaikokan is well known.

Local Guide Comment
The good foothold and fences allow even beginners to enjoy fishing with peace of mind. At the oyster hut, you can enjoy fresh and large oysters.

One of Japan's leading fruit theme parks, where visitors can enjoy fruit picking throughout the year. The orchard, located on an expansive site the size of nine Tokyo domes, grows approximately 160 varieties of fruit. The number of fruit trees is approximately 4,300. About 15 kinds of fruits can be harvested each year: plums and cherries in spring; blueberries, grapes, and pears in summer; apples, tangerines, and persimmons in fall; and strawberries in winter. It is designed so that one to four types of fruit can be harvested each day. The amount of fruit picked is sold by weight, so it is nice to be able to harvest a little of several varieties.
The only winery in Hamamatsu is also located here. Visitors can observe the winemaking process, make their own wine labels, and experience personalizing wine glasses.
In addition, there is a barbecue garden, a restaurant, an activity area with large playground equipment, and a variety of other properties where visitors can play all day long.

Seasonal mikan picking can be enjoyed from the beginning of October to the beginning of December. Hamamatsu, blessed with year-round sunshine hours, is a representative production area for Onshu mandarins, and many mandarin orchards are scattered around Lake Hamana. Among them, "Mikan-hari Tokura-en" is only a 10-minute drive from Kanzanji hot spring, and the parking lot is right next to the mandarin orchards, so you can start picking mandarin oranges as soon as you get there.
In addition, most mandarin oranges are grown on slopes, but here they are grown on flat land, so even small children can easily enjoy picking without worrying about footholds.
The taste of the oranges you pick yourself with scissors while checking the size, color, and shape of the oranges is exceptional. You can even take home 1 kg as a souvenir.

Local Guide Comment
The tangerine orchard overlooking Lake Hamana faces south, where the sun shines brightly. The oranges are delicious after being exposed to the sun!

In Hamamatsu, where the weather is mild even in winter, strawberry picking begins in early December and ends in early May, making it an attractive place to pick strawberries for a long period of time. At Agri-S Hamanako, a group of seven strawberry farms, visitors are guided to the best greenhouses for each season from among about 80 greenhouses. Two varieties of strawberries are grown: "Shohime," a name synonymous with Shizuoka strawberries, and "Benihoppe," which is gaining popularity. The freshly ripened strawberries are so fresh and juicy, and their rich sweetness is so irresistible that you can't help but reach for another one.
The high greenhouses are ideal for family strawberry picking, as wheelchair users and those with weak legs and backs can easily pick strawberries without having to stoop down.
After enjoying strawberries for 30 minutes, you can visit the direct sales corner. In addition to strawberries to take home and handmade strawberry jam, seasonal vegetables, fruits, and fresh flowers are available at reasonable prices.

The ripe strawberries are large and very sweet without condensed milk!

This is Japan's only Air Self-Defense Force Property located adjacent to the Air Self-Defense Force Hamamatsu Air Base. The museum consists of three sections: the "Exhibition and Documentation Hall," which displays a wealth of Self-Defense Forces materials; the "Exhibition Hangar," where actual aircraft such as fighter jets and rescue helicopters are displayed; and the "All-Sky Theater," which shows powerful images of acrobatic flights by the Blue Impulse and other aircraft.
The most popular Experience Activity is the "Flight Simulator" in the hangar. Two people, one in the front and one in the back, climb into the cockpit and try their hand at piloting the aircraft while looking at the screen in front of them. As you operate the handle, the image moves up and down, giving you the realistic feeling of actually operating a fighter jet. In addition, a corner where visitors can Experience and try on the flight suits, helmets, and shoes (replicas) used by pilots of the Air Self-Defense Force is also popular.
