Check out the four seasons, temperatures, and clothing for Lake Kawaguchi (Fuji Five Lakes)!

With Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine, which has a history of more than 1,200 years, the Kawaguchi Lake area has developed as a place of worship of Mt. Fuji, a symbol of Japan, and still attracts many tourists, both domestic and international, as a major sightseeing spot.
Fuji Five Lakes, including Kawaguchi Lake, are about 800 to 900 m above sea level, and with an average annual temperature as low as 11°C, the area is popular as a summer resort. Compared to Tokyo's average temperature of 16.4°C, this figure is about 5.5°C lower. In winter, the minimum temperature is mostly below 0°C, and the days are cold, but there are many sunny days, making it the perfect season to enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.
The weather is also characterized by changeable daily weather and large differences in temperature, so it is best to dress for the season and be prepared for the added bonus of a comfortable stay.

Spring around Lake Kawaguchi is about 5°C cooler than the average temperature in Tokyo. Fuji is still covered with snow in March, the lowest average temperature is -1.7℃, and the lowest average temperature in April is 3.1℃, so a down coat or heavy coat is a must. Fuji and flowers such as Someiyoshino and Oyama-zakura turn the area around Lake Kawaguchi pink. The temperatures reach a high of 15°C or higher during the daytime, but lows are around 6°C. Short sleeves and a light cardigan are the best attire. If you are planning to visit tourist attractions such as Fugaku-kaze Cave and Narusawa Ice Cave, where the temperature inside the caves is only about 3°C, you should bring a jacket.
The weather around Lake Kawaguchi from June to August is changeable, and it is also the time of year with the most precipitation. It is recommended to have rain gear on hand just in case.

The average temperature around Lake Kawaguchi in autumn is about 5°C lower than that of Tokyo, and the lovely cosmos blooming along the lake's shores. However, the amount of rainfall is comparable to that of the rainy season, so rain gear is essential.
In October, when the first snowfall on Mt. Fuji is observed, the temperature suddenly drops to an average low of 9°C.
