The Lavender Road in Furano, Hokkaido, Japan

Lavender is the most popular summer flower in Hokkaido. The flower fields that dot the Furano area are breathtaking, and many people have been enchanted by the scenery.
There are four main varieties of lavender: "Yotei," "Hanamoiwa," "dark purple early blooming," and "Okamurasaki." Each of the four Furano areas (Furano City, Kamifurano Town, Nakafurano Town, and Minami Furano Town), which are decorated with four different types of lavender, has its own unique face, and a comparison of the unique and spectacular scenery is recommended. We recommend that you compare and contrast their unique and spectacular views.

Farm Tomita" has made Furano's lavender famous throughout Japan. From late June to mid-August, when the lavender is in bloom, you will be enveloped in the soft fragrance of lavender. The origin of this farm is the "Traditional Lavender Field. In the early Showa period when cultivation began, lavender was shipped as a perfume crop, and there is still a lavender oil distillation factory and a perfume preparation room in the garden today. In the "Lavender East" field for fragrance crops, visitors can sometimes see a dynamic harvesting scene with a harvester in late July.

Out-of-season lavender and four-season flower fields

 Field of Hanahito
Field of Hanahito" can be enjoyed from early May to mid-October.

Although the lavender season is very short, the greenhouse "Green House" grows lavender outside of summer so that it can be appreciated in any season. The "Gallery Fleur," a photo gallery with seasonal lavender field photos, is also highly recommended. Visitors can also enjoy a flower garden where several types of flowers bloom in a relay-like pattern until mid-October.
Visitors can taste menus using lavender and locally produced ingredients in the park, but the highlight is Farm Tomita's original "Yakitate Furano Melon Pan" (freshly baked Furano melon bread). The crispy dough and thick cream made from Furano melon juice is so delicious that you will want to try it again.

There are several stores and cafes in the park, so you can enjoy visiting them as you tour the flower fields. Farm Tomita's lovable character "Rabe-san" is also cute!
