The ride takes about 25-35 minutes one way (Hakone Town Port and Moto Hakone Port to Momogendai Port). For a spectacular view of Lake Ashi, Mt. Fuji, and the torii gate of Hakone Shrine, the course from Moto-Hakone Port to Togendai Port is recommended. This museum exhibits and houses the works of René Lalique (1860-1945), a French craftsman who was famous in the 19th and 20th centuries during both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Lalique was active in many fields, including delicate and original jewelry, glasswork such as perfume bottles and vases, and innovative yet elegant interior decorations. The museum constantly displays about 230 pieces from its 1,500-piece collection.
The lush green grounds are dotted with cafes, restaurants, salon cars of the Orient Express, and stores selling general merchandise. Admission to the café/restaurant, stores, and garden is free, so they can be used for a variety of purposes.

Lalique loved nature, including animals and plants. His works featuring insects, birds, plants, and flowers are popular among children. Worksheets are distributed to children of elementary school age and older. They can learn about Lalique and his works by drawing the creatures and flowers that appear in his works and taking quizzes. Preschoolers will receive a printed cutout of the work, so they can look for the same work in the exhibits.
In addition, animated cartoons in picture-story form are shown from time to time in the museum store on the second floor. Also, during the summer vacation, workshops for free research are held.

Located in Owakudani, one of Hakone's most popular tourist spots, this museum introduces the history and attractions of Hakone's volcanoes. Owakudani is the site of a crater formed by the collapse of Kamiyama (Mt. Kamiyama) about 3,000 years ago, and volcanic activity continues to this day. The museum has a free information zone that is ideal for gathering information on Hakone volcanoes, including Owakudani.
The GEO Hall, which requires a fee, introduces the history of Hakone volcanoes, the characteristics of each area, hot springs, and other information in an easy-to-understand manner using videos, panels, models, and specimens. Visitors can also enjoy a stamp rally using the "Tanken Map" and receive a bookmark when all the stamps placed throughout the museum are pressed.

Experimental equipment and hands-on exhibits of volcanoes and hot springs are popular

In the GEO Hall, there are a variety of exhibits to stimulate children's curiosity and inquisitiveness. There are various types of volcanic lava, and you can see the differences under a microscope. Other exhibits include a device that allows visitors to see the expansion of a mountain before it erupts by filling balloons with air, a seismograph, and pumping hot spring water. Also noteworthy are the actual exhibits, such as a model of the volcano's topography and an ancient cedar salvaged from Lake Ashinoko, which visitors can touch directly.
In the multipurpose room lined with books on volcanoes and nature, events such as "petit experiments" on volcanoes are held on an irregular basis. Visitors can learn about volcanoes while having fun.
