The 12 Selected Autumn Foliage Spots to Love in Hakone in Autumn
Starting from Lake Ashi, Sengokuhara, Gora, and Kowakudani, Hakone's autumn foliage is in transition. Because of the difference in elevation from Hakone Yumoto, which is about 110 meters above sea level, to Owakudani, which is nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, the trees begin to change color about one month earlier in the higher elevation areas than in Tokyo. Here are some of the best spots to enjoy the autumn colors, from the panoramic view of the mountains of the outer rim of Hakone, Lake Ashi, and Mt. Fuji to the serene autumn scenery found in ancient temples, gardens, and art museums.
