 Enjoy a spectacular day trip to Kawaji Onsen and Yunishigawa Onsen, the backwaters of Nikko

Kawaji Onsen and Yunishigawa Onsen areas are popular hot spring resorts. There are numerous Daytrip Destinations, and the area is dotted with spots perfect for soaking in hot springs and admiring the changing of the seasons between sightseeing excursions.
Here are some of the Daytrip Destinations where you can enjoy the spectacular views.

Hot spring ryokan "Yukemuri-no-Sato Kashiwaya" in Kawaji Onsen has a day-trip hot spring spot known for its spectacular outdoor hot spring.
Built at the confluence of the Kinugawa and Oga Rivers, the Outdoor hot spring is popular for its sense of unity with the river and openness with a spectacular view of the valley. There are also bathtubs with lukewarm spring water, allowing you to enjoy the scenery while taking a long soak.
The "Noiwa Railway" tracks are just out of sight, and watching the trains pass by is also a pleasure. However, since the one-day bathing is only available for two hours from 14:00 to 16:00, we recommend that you make it a part of your schedule.

Local Guide Comment
The bathtubs are spacious, so you won't mind if there are a lot of people in them. The view from the outdoor hot spring is excellent, including the Koganebashi Bridge over the Kinugawa River.

The view from the footbath is also popular.

A garden named "Forest of the Four Seasons" stretches across the grounds, and there is a viewing platform and a free footbath along the river. The view of the valley from the footbath is spectacular, and the rest area offers a magnificent view of nature.
Anyone can stop by the footbath, but it is best to visit before the lights go out at 9:00 p.m.

Yakushi no Yu, located on the opposite bank of the Oga River from Yukemuri no Sato Kashiwaya, is a one-day hot spring featuring a mixed bathing outdoor hot spring.
There are indoor baths (separate for men and women) and mixed bathing Outdoor hot springs inside the Property, and bathing while listening to the murmuring of the Oga River up close gives you a sense of freedom and truly being at one with nature.
However, the mixed bathing outdoor hot spring is located near a bridge and is visible from the other side of the river, so those who are concerned about being seen are advised to use the indoor baths or private baths (extra charge).

The clear, colorless water is soft and tepid, allowing you to warm yourself slowly. It is also popular as "hot water for beautiful skin.

Private baths that can be enjoyed with children

The Property has separate indoor baths for men and women, as well as private baths for families. The baths are private rooms from the changing rooms, so even if you have small children with you, you can take a relaxing bath without worrying about being seen.
Kawaji hot spring has been called "Yakushi-yu" in honor of Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha) because it is believed to be effective against all illnesses. The spirit of soaking in the hot spring and praying for good health has never changed, and this hot spring Property is loved by travelers and local residents alike.

This one-day hot spring is located at "Roadside Station Yunishigawa," which is integrated with "Yunishigawa Hot Spring Station" on the Noiwa Railway Aizu-Kinugawa Line. This is a roadside station with a natural hot spring, a rarity in Japan.
There are separate indoor baths for men and women and a bath with a view (rock bath and hinoki bath). As of 2017, on odd-numbered months, women have rock baths and men have hinoki baths. On even-numbered months, the opposite is true.

A bedrock bath (junior high school age and older) is also available, and the bedrock bath fee includes a samue, towel, and mineral water. (*Samue and towels must be returned.
There is also a Japanese-style lounge where you can relax, although eating and drinking are not allowed. If you would like to have a meal, a Dining Area using local ingredients is available on the first floor of the Roadside Station.

Local Guide Comment
The temperature is a little hot, and the refreshing feeling is pleasant. There is also a bedrock bath where you can enjoy a variety of hot springs.
