1Sakurai Coffee & Island Coffee Roastery
Delicious coffee complements sandwiches and sweets.
Located in the village of Kubazaki, the westernmost point of Kohamajima, is a small coffee roastery. The "ABC Sandwich" is a popular hot sandwich with the golden combination of avocado, bacon, and cheese.
To accompany the hot sandwich, Sakurai Coffee's original "Sakurai Latte," made with soy milk, milk, and Okinawan millet sugar, is a perfect match. The slightly sweet Sakurai latte is unforgettable.
A relaxing time spent at a hideaway coffee shop
The store has only a small counter and two tables seating two people. The cozy space makes you feel close to the owner's passion. Comfortable music plays in the store, and the aroma of coffee creates a happy time.
Sweets such as "Kohamajima brown sugar gateau chocolat" and "Ishigaki Jersey cream baked cheese cake" are the perfect accompaniment to freshly brewed coffee.

Located in a hotel in the north of Kohamajima, this small café is open from 8:00 to 11:00 and serves an excellent breakfast. An exquisite dish born from the owner's attention to ingredients is the classic French dish Croque Madame.
Campagne from Bread Django, a bakery on Ishigaki Island, ham from TESIO, a ham and sausage specialty store on Okinawa's main island, homemade béchamel sauce made with Ishigaki Island marija milk and Okinawan flour, melted Gruyere cheese, and a half-boiled fried egg create a rich and delicious taste.

3BOB's CAFE
The brown sugar from Kohamajima is the secret ingredient in this exquisite burger!
This café is popular among both Kohamajima islanders and tourists. The dynamic and hearty "Kohama Burger" is made with bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried egg, beef patties, and teriyaki sauce made with brown sugar.
The teriyaki sauce was born out of the owner's desire to incorporate brown sugar from Kohamajima into the menu after tasting the delicious brown sugar when he first launched the restaurant in 2009. The sweetness of the brown sugar creates a rich and delicious flavor that whets the appetite.
Relaxing island time at a café with an ocean view
The restaurant, reminiscent of an American diner with its light music, has window and bar counter seating as well as tables for four, allowing Guest/customers with children to enjoy their meals in peace. Since the restaurant is located on the second floor up the stairs, customers can enjoy the ocean view from the window.
In addition to the Obama Burger, "Taco Burger," "Taco Rice," and "French Fries" are also available. In the evening, you can order from the a la carte menu a la carte dishes typical of Okinawa, such as "Umibudo Kohamajima" and "Shima Rakkyo (salt)".

4coffee house palm tree
A coffee shop full of deliciousness that you should stop by when you come to Kohamajima.
This small coffee shop is located at the entrance to the village up the straight road leading from Kohama Port. You can enjoy the master's special "Black Chicken Curry" and "Keema Curry" as well as exquisite sweets.
The popular "Brown Sugar Sundae" uses brown sugar from Kohamajima for the syrup, and the rich, deep sweetness and cold vanilla ice cream create an exquisite harmony. We also recommend the brown sugar milk and passion fruit shaved ice.
The owners are an oil painter and a picture book author.
The store's relaxed atmosphere and the warmth of the wood make it possible to enjoy the relaxing island time that is unique to Kohamajima. The tables and chairs in the restaurant are made of yarabu wood (terihaboku) and Ryukyu pine.
The yarabu tree used to be in the garden of a large old house next door to the house where the owner and his wife used to live. The owner and his wife were attached to the tree because they used to see it every day, so they received it on the condition that they would bear the cost of cutting it down, and they made the tables and chairs in the store as if they were bringing a tree back to life.

The wood-toned interior of the restaurant is decorated with Okinawan-style tools of daily life such as weaving looms and kuba hats, giving the restaurant a nostalgic atmosphere. The lunch menu includes "Island Tofu Taco Rice" and "Spice Curry," and the "Daily Lunch Plate" features dishes recommended by the chef using seasonal ingredients.

The yakiniku restaurant offers exquisite meat selected by a yakiniku expert in the best condition. 7SHIMAMUMUCHU
Yaeyama soba noodles at a homey port diner
The landmark is the bright yellow building standing right in front of Kohama Port. The restaurant is loved by both islanders and tourists alike for its abundant menu of local cuisine including Yaeyama soba, set menus, and rice bowls, as well as the warm hospitality of the owner and his wife.
The famous soba noodle soup is made from two kinds of kelp and bonito broth from Hidaka and Rausu, and its delicious flavor will fill your mouth as you sip the noodles. Along with the standard "Island Soba", the "Soba with Soft Bone Soki" is also popular. It is a dish of which the restaurant is proud, with the cartilage bone soki cooked until tender and seared to perfection.
Relax with island delicacies and island time in a space overflowing with the colors of Okinawa!
Inside the restaurant, you will find Okinawan folk tools and crafts, such as kuba kasa (bamboo hats). The relaxed atmosphere where island time flows is so comfortable that you will want to linger.
The menu, including soba, is diverse, and each set meal, such as fried chicken, pork ginger yaki, and bitter gourd stir-fry, is not only tasty but also generous in volume. The menu also includes taco rice and katsudon (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice), making it hard to choose a favorite. Enjoy the island cuisine with your favorite drink, such as Orion beer, Awamori, mango or shikwasa juice, or sampin tea.
