Odake (holding) observatory

Islands in Yaeyama can be looked around from the Otake's most expensive top in Kohamajima.

Odake an island reads as "holding", and where it's also a symbol at the highest mountain in Kohamajima. An altitude can enjoy the panoramic superb view which spreads 360 deg from the observatory in the top because entourage have about 99 m of no high building.

Ishinaga Den (I'm here, by flirting, TA) coast located in the west side of Kohamajima. A subtropical mangrove is a car in the other side where an island was crossed from Obama harbor by the spot which can be observed, about 10 minutes. There is maintained free Parking, and you can go to coast neighborhood casually by rent-a-car.
It's even possible to get off immediately near the mangrove forest from the location of several minutes on foot from Parking, and it's possible to observe various creatures at the time of an ebb. Woods of a mangrove are spread in immediateness, and the beautiful scenery of the subtropical zone which is seen only in Kohamajima which sees Iriomotejima is spread in an opposite shore.

I'll enjoy Ishinaga Den mangrove.

When I advance the way in front of the Obama elementary and junior high schools westward at about 10 minutes by car from Obama harbor, you can arrive around the entrance of Ishinaga Taumi Kishi and park for free of charge.
I'll recommend to visit according to the Ishinaga Taumi Kishi sightseeing because there is an entrance of stairs to mosquito training observatory around Parking.
