[Okinawa/Onna Village] Recommended lunch spots in the Seragaki area! Including restaurants with superb views

Okinawa's Seragaki, where you can enjoy typical Okinawan scenery with its vast blue sea and sky, is one of the prefecture's leading resort areas. It is gaining popularity as a place to spend blissful time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In this article, we will introduce recommended lunch spots in the Seragaki area. We have carefully selected popular establishments, ranging from classic Okinawan cuisine like Okinawa soba to pancake specialty shops and Hawaiian cafes. Why not fully enjoy the resort atmosphere at a popular lunch spot?

A specialty shop for "Aosa Soba," where the scent of the sea whets your appetite.

"Asa Soba (Medium)" 1,000 yen. Also pay attention to the makai (Okinawan dialect for bowl) made from Okinawan clay.

A restaurant where you can taste unique Okinawa soba made with a seaweed called "asa" in Okinawa. The homemade thin noodles, kneaded with plenty of A-rank local asa known for its smooth texture, are firm and chewy, pairing perfectly with the fragrant bonito-based soup. The toppings are also carefully selected, including kamaboko (fish cake) also kneaded with asa, and tender, melt-in-your-mouth pork belly seasoned with a secret sweet and savory sauce that has been topped up since the restaurant's founding. It is a healthy yet satisfying bowl.

The ocean-view setting is also a reason for its popularity

In addition to counter and table seating, there are also tatami mat seats. High chairs are available, making it recommended for those with children.

The restaurant is located along National Route 58, which runs north to south along the west coast of Okinawa. Spread out on the other side of the road is the blue sea of Onna Village. Another attraction is that you can gaze at the ocean from inside the restaurant and fully enjoy the Okinawan vibe. Thanks to such a prime location and the deliciousness of the asa (sea lettuce) soba, many tourists become repeat customers. Orders are placed via a ticket system. Purchase a meal ticket at the vending machine, and if it is crowded, write your name on the list and wait. It is especially crowded during lunchtime, so it is recommended to visit with plenty of time to spare.

By mixing the topping of sea lettuce (aosa) well with the firm noodles, you can fully enjoy the flavor of the sea lettuce. If you want to change up the flavor, try adding "Koregusu"—island chili peppers soaked in awamori—to your liking.

The popular "Handmade Pizza Dokadoka," the classic Okinawan "Taco Rice," and "Organic Coffee," which is perfect for after a meal

This is a cafe where you can enjoy meals served on pottery created by Akira Tamada, a ceramic artist living in Okinawa. All the pottery in the shop is handmade in the "Seifu-gama" studio on the first floor. Created with the belief that "pottery truly comes to life when food is served on it," these pieces further enhance the deliciousness of the dishes.

Our pizza, made from scratch and baked to order, is highly popular. The chewy "Handmade Pizza Dokadoka" is loaded with ingredients like piping hot cheese, spicy "Pochigi" sausage, and onions. We also offer sweets made with carefully selected ingredients, such as tofu cake made with domestic soy milk.

The name "Dokadoka" embodies the idea that "pottery is a flower bloomed by the earth," as well as the wish for the shop to be a place where customers come in droves. It is indeed a popular shop with a constant stream of customers, and one of the reasons is the terrace seating that overlooks the sea of Onna Village. In particular, at the counter seats where you can look down at the sea, you can spend a special time gazing at the superb view of the green trees and the blue ocean.
In addition, the shop has an attached gallery that exhibits and sells Akira Tamada's pottery. You can find everything from traditional Yachimun to modern designs. You can also experience pottery making at the studio on the first floor.
