Yoshikazu Taira
Hot spring supporter in Nasu

He has been with the hotel for 9 years. He fell in love with Nasu, which he arrived at after visiting many places, and became a fan. In particular, he loves visiting "hot springs that have been around for a long time," which are beloved by the locals. Whenever he has a day off, he enjoys visiting hot springs and blending in with the locals.

Local Guide FAQ

What do you recommend in Nasu?

Nasu is actually a hidden hot spring paradise. I would like to invite visitors to take a dip in one of Nasu's wonderful hot springs. If you like murky water, we recommend "Shika-no-yu" and "Kojika-no-yu". If you like soft hot springs with beautiful skin, stop by "Daimaru Hot spring ryokan" and take a bath.

Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.

There are many nice cafes in Nasu. My recommendation is Franklin's Cafe, which is a bit off the beaten path. It is located a little far from the center of Nasu Highlands, and you may be surprised to know that there is a café here. You may be surprised to find a café in the middle of a satoyama, a little far from the center of Nasu Highlands. You can enjoy our coffee and delicious vegetable dishes.

Where did you travel to last year and with whom?

I went to Sado Island with a group of friends I have known since elementary school. Tochigi is a prefecture without a sea, so I usually love living in the mountains and highlands, but sometimes I miss the sea. We enjoyed driving along the coastline, eating delicious seafood, and visiting historic towns.

What do you do on your days off?

On sunny days, go mountain climbing or driving. When I was in my 20s, I had plenty of energy to climb various mountains on my days off, but now that I am in my 30s, I find myself going to hot springs more often to refresh myself (laugh).
