Local Guide
Check out Hirosaki's seasonal temperatures and clothing!

Hirosaki City is surrounded by Mount Iwaki in the northwest and the Shirakami and Owani Mountains in the south. On the plateaus and hills that connect to each of these mountains, apple orchards, which account for 40% of the total production in Aomori Prefecture, are spread out amidst rich nature.
The average annual temperature is 10.5°C. The climate is cool throughout the year, 5.3°C lower than Tokyo's average annual temperature of 15.8°C.
The Tsugaru region, where Hirosaki City is located, tends to be less affected by the rainy season, with warm and dry days in early summer. In winter, on the other hand, the cold, moist air of the monsoon hits the Ou Mountains and causes snow to fall, resulting in heavy snowfall peculiar to the Sea of Japan side. Even within the same prefecture, Aomori's climate differs greatly from that of cities such as Towada and Hachinohe, which are located on the Pacific Ocean side.
