Here are some lunch spots where you can discover new charms of Sendai.
1Chinese Cuisine Ryutei
Ryouzhimen, the original chilled Chinese noodles, where the skills of professional chefs shine through.
A Chinese restaurant established in 1931. The specialty is "Ryangban" noodles, the original chilled Chinese noodles, which was invented by the first owner. Toppings such as jellyfish, steamed chicken, loin ham, cucumber, char siu pork, and broiled egg are served on a separate plate, and each ingredient is carefully hand-seasoned to bring out the best in each ingredient. The soy sauce sauce sauce, a speciality of the restaurant, is made with citrus juices such as lemon and orange to soften the strong acidity of vinegar, resulting in a refreshing and elegant sweetness.
A la carte dishes that continue to evolve with the times
While respecting traditional flavors, the restaurant has continued to evolve with the times, with successive owners incorporating their own taste senses and ideas into their dishes and improving their recipes. The fourth-generation owner says, "I want people to enjoy the particular flavors of the food, which is popular cuisine but made with techniques that only a professional can create.
The menu offers a wide variety of dishes such as soup soba, yakisoba, rice dishes, dim sum, etc. The daily set meal set and dim sum set are available at lunch time. Please visit the restaurant to taste the excellent dishes that the owner takes the time and effort to prepare.

2Biwane
Kaiseki cuisine with attention to detail, from the container to the presentation.
This kaiseki restaurant is quietly located in an alleyway off a busy arcade in the center of Sendai. You can enjoy fine Japanese cuisine in a refined, high-quality space. The restaurant's charm lies in its local cuisine, such as sashimi made from Sanriku seafood, which is purchased and prepared daily, and thickly sliced beef tongue with homemade seasoning. The restaurant pays careful attention to the presentation of the dishes and the serving utensils, and each dish is lined up in a colorful array of dishes. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of sake brands, so we recommend enjoying them with sake.

Once you step into the restaurant, you will feel as if you are surrounded by a Japanese atmosphere. With a small waterfall and pond, it is an atmospheric Japanese-style setting that is a replica of a back alley in Kyoto. 3Tomean
Taste "fu donburi" and "hattojiru", local cuisine of Tome City
This restaurant offers local cuisine from Tome City, located in the northern part of Miyagi Prefecture.
The specialty, "aburafu donburi" is a local Miyagi Prefecture B gourmet dish that uses deep-fried fu instead of pork cutlets in katsudon (pork cutlet served on top of a bowl of rice). The thick fu soaked in sweet and sour homemade sauce and the mildness of the egg combine to make a satisfying yet healthy bowl of rice.
Hatto soup is made by kneading wheat flour and boiling it in soy sauce broth for several hours. The chewy texture of the Hatto is so addictive that once you try it, you will be hooked.
A wide variety of soba noodles, rice bowls and set menus using local ingredients
Founded in 2010, the restaurant was opened by the owner, a native of Tome City, who wanted to spread the local cuisine. The restaurant offers a wide range of dishes, including soba noodles, rice bowls such as katsudon (pork cutlet bowl) and tendon, curry, yakisoba, and set menus, with aburafu donburi and hatto soup as its specialties. Many local customers visit the restaurant for the carefully prepared dishes using rich ingredients grown in Tome, such as "Hitomebore" rice and vegetables grown in Tome City.
The spacious interior is bright and relaxing, with sunlight streaming in through the large windows. The atmosphere is comfortable for everyone from solo diners to families.

4AKIU SHA
Excellent curry using plenty of vegetables from local farmers
This old-fashioned restaurant is located in Akiu hot spring village, which is rich in nature. The restaurant serves dishes using fresh vegetables delivered to the restaurant every morning from local farmers.
We recommend the colorful "Yellow Curry with Plenty of Vegetables. The vegetables, such as onions carefully cooked for 90 minutes, change with the seasons, and in winter, root vegetables are used as the main ingredient. In winter, root vegetables are the main ingredient.
Sweets with a unique Akiu Experience
The restaurant is located in a renovated old private house called "Nozokiyashiki," built in the late Edo period (1603-1868) and marked by its distinctive large red roof. The high-ceilinged store, which retains its thatched roof, is a fusion of old and new, with modern interior design while retaining the traditional Sendai Tanzusu and Shinto altar from the time period.
The sweets are also a unique experience in Akiu. The "Akiu Quarry Stone Chocolat" is a white chocolate-based crunch inspired by the distinctive pattern of Akiu stone, which was once mined in the area, and is broken with a wooden mallet. Please enjoy it for dessert.

5HACHI Akiu Hot Spring Store
The popular "Adult Plate" that allows you to fully enjoy the restaurant's signature flavors
Founded in Natori City in 1979 as a small Western-style restaurant, we have been delivering Western-style cuisine that meets the needs of the times based on recipes handed down from generation to generation.
We recommend the greedy "Otona-sama Plate," which includes the traditional Western-style restaurant's mainstay dishes. You can enjoy two signature dishes: Neapolitan, which won the Grand Prix at the first "Kagome Neapolitan Stadium" competition (2103) sponsored by Kagome Co. and hamburger steak with a golden ratio. The one with hot spring eggs is available only at the Akiu hot spring restaurant. The Neapolitan is served with an egg, which is only available at the Akiu Onsen restaurant, and can also be enjoyed in other ways, such as by dipping it in the egg.
The cute and nostalgic interior of the restaurant is also very attractive.
The restaurant is designed with the idea of "creating a restaurant that will remain in the customer's memory," and every detail of the restaurant is carefully considered. The nostalgic atmosphere of the warm wooden interior, carefully set tables, and original background music by Sendai-based singer-songwriters Kyoaki Takahashi and Megumu Saito bring a special feeling to the everyday.
Currently, there are six restaurants in Miyagi Prefecture. Aiming to be rooted in the community, they offer a wide selection of local alcoholic beverages, including those from Akiu Winery, Nikka Whiskey, and Great Dane Brewing, which has a brewery in Akiu.

6TERROAGE AKIU
Enjoy the "marriage of wine and food" that only a winery can offer!
The restaurant is located at the Akiu Winery, which handles everything from grape cultivation to winemaking and sales. The restaurant's concept is "the marriage of wine and food," and the food, which goes perfectly with the wine, is highly acclaimed. On fine days, the "Picnic Lunch Box" served on the terrace creates a pleasant lunchtime experience. For those who want to enjoy wine, we also recommend the "Winery Antipasto," which includes nine different appetizers. It can also be enjoyed as a lunch with bread and soup.
A winery that communicates the desire for reconstruction and the bounty of the Tohoku region
Akiu Winery was opened with the owner's desire to use the power of wine, along with food, to help the recovery from the earthquake disaster. The winery also hosts a marché and dinner events with local producers on an irregular basis, making it an appealing Experience rooted in the local community.
The store also has a sales counter where you can purchase wine and processed local specialty foods. We recommend that you purchase your favorite brand of wine, such as wines made from 100% of the company's own vineyards or wines made from grape varieties grown in the Tohoku region, after comparing them with other wines. You can also watch the grape preparation and brewing process in the brewing room through the window.
