Under the supervision of the patissier who owns a restaurant in Yoyogi-Hachiman, Tokyo, this new Nasu brand pastry was created through a process of trial and error, and looks cute too.

The theme of the confectionery is "Japan's beautiful nature. For example, "Banrai" was created with the image of a round drum of thunder. This was inspired by the mountainous regions of Nikko and Nasu, where thunderstorms frequently occur, and where thunder that brings rain has been considered a good omen for a bountiful harvest. The image of "Tanabikikikan" was inspired by "the beautiful scenery of a sea of clouds in the morning when clouds begin to rise and trail. Both have won prizes at the National Confectionary Exposition and are known for their taste. Please be sure to pick up a souvenir of the delicate confections produced in the rich natural environment of Nasu.
