Local Guide FAQ

What do you recommend (places, experiences, food) in the Aomori area?

Tanezaki Beach in Hachinohe City. The view of the grassy lawn along the coast, a rarity in Japan, is as if you were abroad. You can camp with your family or friends in this area, or you can spread out leisure sheets for a leisurely read, picnic, or nap. Both body and soul will be refreshed.

Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.

The park surrounding the Towada Art Museum is dotted with contemporary art. On sunny days, families with children enjoy walking and exercising. Also, as the city is known for its horses, horseshoes are embedded in the sidewalk near the park. It is a little playful and makes the walk more enjoyable.

Where did you travel to last year and with whom?

Last year I went on a trip to Hakone with a friend. Owakudani, which was one of the destinations of the trip, was abandoned because we could not even open the car door due to a rain storm. I have always been a rainy man, and I am aiming for revenge next time.

 Bag
What do you do on your days off?

On my days off, I enjoy driving my car. Driving in areas rich in nature, such as the Oirase mountain stream and Mt. Hakkouda, is very pleasant, and my favorite thing to do is to listen to my favorite music while driving.

 Coffee
Is there anything you always take with you on a trip?

I carry a cooler box in my car. Not only for relaxing with a cold drink outdoors when I am on the road, but also so that I can bring back fresh local ingredients when I buy them. Cooking the ingredients while reminiscing about the trip is a pleasure later in the day.
