BEB Tsuchiura by Hoshino Resorts: A hotel for enjoying bicycles located in Japan's largest cycling resort "PLAYatreTSUCHIURA," which is directly connected to JR Tsuchiura Station, the shortest 49-minute express train ride from Tokyo. What do you recommend in Tsuchiura area?: While cycling along the Tsukuba-Kasumigaura Rinrin Road, a bicycle path stretching in the direction of Mt. Tsukuba, it is recommended to enjoy cafes and gourmet food such as handmade udon and ramen noodles, and to stop by a sake brewery to experience the local climate.

Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.: A 5-minute bicycle ride from BEB Tsuchiura by Hoshino Resorts, the morning glow of Kasumigaura is spectacular! Even though it is not the ocean, the morning glow and the rising sun on the horizon have a great impact.

What is your most memorable trip?: I love Nagano and have fond memories of often going out there with my colleagues from work. When we went to Nichigami Hot Springs in Achi Village, Nagano Prefecture, I loved the mildly hot spring water of Nichigami Hot Springs so much that I bathed in it many times. We also experienced an intense river rafting trip down the Tenryu River, which was a lot of fun for all of us. We also went SUPing on a big lake near Hakuba Village and went snowboarding, which was a lot of fun.

What do you do on your days off?: I have been into cameras for the past four years and started road biking after I was transferred to Tsuchiura. Cycling with my camera is my bliss.

Is there anything you always take with you on a trip?: I bring my favorite Sony mirrorless camera and a small body bag so that I can move as lightly as possible when taking pictures.
