1Rakujiya Marugen
Enjoy every bit of local seafood gourmet
Facing Yunohana-dori Street that stretches from the front of Ito Station, this izakaya is run by the middleman of the Ito fish market. In addition to seasonal local fish purchased every morning, the menu also includes a wide variety of Izu delicacies and homemade dried fish. You can casually enjoy local delicacies to your heart's content, such as sashimi assortment and dried sea bream with a glass of locally brewed sake.
For those who want to eat well, we recommend the "Kaisen Mizore-don," a bowl of rice topped with a variety of Izu's local fish such as red sunfish and dolphinfish. Kaisen donburi, fried fish, dried fish, and sashimi all feature local fish and seafood landed at Izu's ports.
Taste Ito's exquisite fisherman's rice "Uzuwa
A local specialty of Ito that should not be missed is "Uzuwa," a local dish. Soda bonito, which has a whirlpool-like ring pattern on its back, is locally called Uzuwa. It is a fisherman's meal with a spicy flavor that goes well with both rice and sake. It can also be served chazuke-style with a generous amount of Soda bonito broth.
Other dishes such as "Saba no Namero" and "Saba no Cured Ham" are also not to be missed.

2Suzumaru Sushi Restaurant
Tantalize your taste buds with the freshest local fish nigiri
The restaurant is particular about the freshness of its ingredients. The restaurant purchases the freshest seafood landed in Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay on the same day directly from the owner's own fishing boats or from fishing boats sailing on the same day. For a complete taste of their specialty, we recommend the "Tokusen Jukkoku", which includes 10 pieces of nigiri and a homemade egg omelet, to fully enjoy the season of Ito with a focus on local fish. The counter is lined with a variety of exquisite items, including thick, rich, and sweet bluefish such as warasa and striped horse mackerel, seasonal local fish such as seared sea bream, and even wild caught tuna. You can even ask for a piece of fish such as Japanese bluefin tuna or bigeye tuna, which are only available in Ito and its suburbs, to be made from a single piece.
Local connoisseurs and sushi chefs alike are in love with "jikinmoku" (local goldfish)
Sushi no Hisazumaru is so well-known for its ingredients and preparation that even the most discerning locals and sushi chefs in Tokyo go to the restaurant for their reference. The "Four Kinds of Jikiname Nigiri" is especially popular, offering four different flavors: raw, pickled, seared, and marinated in miso. One bite of this exquisite nigiri is sure to melt in your mouth with the sweetness of the unique fat of the sea bream, which is followed by a rich umami taste.
The best sake to order with nigiri is "Suzumaru," an original sake with a light and dry taste. This light and dry sake enhances the delicate flavor of the fish. It is also recommended to enjoy it with a la carte dishes such as kuromutsu (black porgy) stew and grilled local fish such as garincho.

3Uoiso
Highly satisfying conveyor-belt sushi
This conveyor-belt sushi restaurant offers a wide selection of fresh fish, mainly local fish from the waters around Izu. When you enter the restaurant, check the board with the day's recommendations. The board lists seasonal local fish such as horse mackerel, swordfish, and sea robin, which you may not find in central Tokyo. Also, high-end ingredients such as abalone nigiri, turban shell sashimi, live kampachi and tuna fatty tuna are served at reasonable prices, which is possible only in Izu, where there are many fishing ports. The items are also large and satisfying. You can taste such high quality ingredients that it is hard to believe that this is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant.
Rare local and inshore fish are also available.
Depending on availability, if you can find aburabozu, a deep-sea fish also known as "white fish toro," give it a try. This fantastic fish is said to be hard to find outside of fishing towns, and its shiny, pure white flesh soaks up the flavor and fat of the fish the more you bite into it. Also, be sure to check out the local and inshore fish, such as bigeye tuna, striped horse mackerel, and horse mackerel.
The restaurant is located along Route 135, Higashi Izu Road, about 10 minutes by car from Tomido Station. Direction is conveniently located near Mt. Omuro, Izu Shaboten Park, and Izu Guranparu Park. The restaurant has a revolving lane in the center of the restaurant and consists of a U-shaped counter and box seats, so families and couples can easily stop by on their way home from sightseeing.

4Aji no Ten Gomiya
Seafood restaurant near the station with a long line of customers both day and night
The restaurant sources carefully selected seafood from all over Izu, Numazu, and Odawara, and offers hearty set menus, rice bowls, and a la carte dishes. To enjoy local fish, decide what you want to eat from the day's arrivals and order it cooked in sashimi, grilled, simmered, or fried dishes.
Also, if you want to taste a variety of seasonal seafood, the "Gomiya Omakase Donburi" is recommended. The bowl of rice topped with about 20 different kinds of seafood, ranging from local products such as baby sardines, sardines, and turban shells to high-end ingredients such as sea bream and sea urchin, all purchased on a daily basis, is a huge bowl of rice. All the ingredients are fresh and exceptionally tasty.
Local gourmet cuisine combined with local sake
Local sake goes well with the delicious local fish. The restaurant boasts a full lineup of sake, including Suginishiki, which has a mellow flavor with a good balance of sour and sweet tastes.
To top off the meal, be sure to try Negomeshi, a local dish from Ito. Red and white fish and squid sashimi are pounded and served on rice, topped with miso, soy sauce, green onion, and dashi broth. A menu of three local fish dishes that will satisfy you to the end is available.
Located just a four-minute walk from Ito Station, it is also an easy stopover after dropping off your luggage at the inn or enjoying a hot spring at the public bathhouse.

5Amafura Tenyoshi
Edo-mae Tempura that can be enjoyed as a course
The restaurant was opened in 1996 by the owner, who trained for about 20 years at a famous tempura restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo. The restaurant serves authentic Edo-style tempura on a plateau surrounded by nature. Dinner courses are "Hana" (5,000 yen), "Tsuki" (6,500 yen), and "Yuki" (8,500 yen). Tempura consists of shrimp, fish, vegetables, and kakiage, with the ingredients and number of items changing depending on the course. The contents of the course, including ingredients from Izu and seasonal flavors, are a pleasure to enjoy at the time of the course. For example, in spring, we sometimes serve tempura with cod sprouts from our garden. The course also includes a meal (small bowl of rice topped with tempura, tempura tea, or white rice) and dessert.
Freshly fried tempura at the counter
Tables are available inside the restaurant, but counter seating is recommended. It is a pleasure to wait and watch the tempura being deep-fried right in front of you. The freshly fried tempura, served at the best timing according to the ingredients, is crispy and light to the touch. In addition to the standard prawns and kakiage, sweet potatoes deep-fried whole are also popular. The owner says, "I try to make sure that customers enjoy not only the tempura itself, but also the time they spend at the restaurant. To enjoy the artisanal skills of the chef, be sure to reserve a table at the counter.

6Miracolo
Italian cuisine that incorporates many local seasonal ingredients
This Italian Restaurant is located in a quiet villa area at the foot of Mount Omuro. The chef, who has experience at various hotels and restaurants, opened the restaurant in 2014, fascinated by the nature and food of Izu Kogen. The menu arranges vegetables grown in Izu Kogen and fish caught in the waters around Izu. The restaurant has been recognized by Shizuoka Prefecture as a "Fujinokuni Shoku-no-Tsukkuri Worker" for its active use of ingredients from Shizuoka Prefecture. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with antique furniture and three windows from which you can enjoy your meal while looking out on nature.
Choice of pasta and main dish for dinner course
For dinner, we recommend the "Miracolo Dinner Course," which includes soup, assorted appetizers, pasta, main dish, assorted desserts, and a cafe. You can choose from five to six types of pasta and seven to eight main dishes. A la carte orders are also available during dinner hours. In addition to local vegetable dishes and seasonal local fish, the restaurant is also proud of its "Japanese beef cheek stewed in red wine with local vegetables," which is braised in the oven for seven hours. If you wish to order a la carte, it is best to make a reservation in advance.
7Steak Ikeda
Wagyu beef and local seafood served on an authentic teppan grill
The restaurant is the most exclusive teppanyaki Restaurant in Izu City, where skilled chefs cook on the teppan in front of the counter. You can enjoy the blissful taste of the mountain and sea foods nurtured by Izu's rich nature, such as brand-name Japanese black beef and other domestic beef, while watching the chefs transform them into exquisite dishes.
Dinner is centered around the "Izu Course," which includes superb sirloin or filet of meat and teppan-grilled seafood, as well as several other course meals.
Chef's performance is also part of the feast!
Recommended for dinner is the "Ikeda Course," which bears the restaurant's name. The course includes hors d'oeuvres, seasonal fish, and A4 grade sirloin, A4 or A5 grade filet steak. The place of origin of the beef is the finest available at the time, depending on the day, so having the waiter explain where the meat is from when you order will enhance your pre-dinner mood.
After the hors d'oeuvres and soup are served, the chef appears. The performance that unfolds on the teppan in front of you is a powerful one. The taste of the steaks, which are grilled to perfection as the chef flambéed the ingredients with his brilliant hand, will bring a smile to your face.
