Handmade by the ranch, exquisite cheesecake

Cheesecake Factory, located at the foot of the Nasu mountain range, is a must-see if you are looking for cheese in Nasu. Their most popular item, "Nasu no Yukimelto," is a rare cheesecake in a cup. It has a rich and refreshing flavor. The secret to its delicious taste is that the raw milk produced on the family's own pasture is kneaded by hand, without using machines. The natural and fresh taste of the fresh, home-produced milk is popular among men and women of all ages, with many customers buying in bulk.

The view of Mt. Chausu and Mt. Asahi from the ranch is also exceptional!

The woody interior of the store gives you the feeling of being in a mountain lodge in the Nasu mountain range.

The store offers not only souvenir shopping, but also an eat-in area. The warmth of the wooden interior is cozy, but you should definitely sit down on the terrace or on the lawn. Cows graze peacefully in the adjoining pasture, and Mt. Early visit is recommended, as the mountain ridge is shaded after noon and products are sometimes sold out. The natural cheese "Nasu no Daichi", handmade with 100% freshly squeezed homemade milk, and the soft-serve ice cream sold from spring to fall are also excellent.

Local Guide Comment
Located slightly away from the center of Nasu, a family-run ranch spreads out in front of the store. Soft ice cream and cheesecake made with fresh milk from the ranch are popular. The terrace seats overlook the ranch and Mt. Nasu, creating a peaceful atmosphere typical of Nasu.

The simple space with a wood-burning stove provides a Scandinavian atmosphere. Pets are welcome on the terrace.

Located in the "Finnish Forest" in Nasu, the cafe is a pure white building surrounded by trees. In a space with a Scandinavian atmosphere, popular pancakes with a fluffy and moist texture await you.
The store's signature menu item, "buttermilk pancakes," was created through a trial-and-error process to create a fluffy texture using a unique formula. Pancakes are made to order, mixed with flour, and served freshly cooked on a special griddle. Please visit the restaurant to see how each pancake is carefully prepared.

Fluffy pancakes with a special fluffy flavor to be enjoyed with the delicious natural air of Nasu.

Special Cream Pancake + Homemade Strawberry Sauce + Fresh Strawberry Topping
Special Cream Pancake + Homemade Strawberry Sauce + Fresh Strawberry Topping" 1,824 yen.

The cream is pure fresh cream, and the eggs and milk are made from Nasu and local ingredients. The "Classic Buttermilk Pancakes (Plain)" (1,056 yen) topped with rare calpis butter has a refreshing taste because the pancakes themselves are not too sweet. For a hearty meal, we recommend the "Special Fresh Cream Pancake" topped with fresh cream and ice cream. We also recommend adding homemade jam or any other toppings you like to make your own pancakes.

A rich green tea parfait that is pleasing to the eye and expresses the nature of Nasu

 Matcha Parfait
Matcha Parfait" 1,320 yen. The top of the parfait depicts white clouds floating in the mountains of Nasu.

This confectionery store makes its own unique "nihonkashi" that combines tradition and novelty. The store is named after the image of clouds boiling up from the foothills of the mountains of Nikko and Nasu and rising into the sky. The confections and sweets are also created on the theme of Japan's beautiful nature. The "Matcha Parfait," a regular menu item at the Japanese-style café attached to the restaurant, is a multi-layered representation of the clouds floating over the mountains of Nasu and the nature of Nasu field that spreads out below them. The parfait is a sweet for adults with a hint of bitterness, consisting of matcha gelato, homemade bean paste, matcha kuzu pudding, and other ingredients.

After taking a breather, you can get some sweets as a souvenir on your way home.

After your café time, check out the souvenir corner here. You can buy quality souvenirs such as "Banrai" milk buns, "Tanabikikikan" Japanese yokan, "Mugikoro" cookies, etc., which will be appreciated by everyone from the elderly to children.

Many of the items on the café menu change with the seasons, so you will want to visit again and again. The "1mm Mont Blanc" for fall and winter is very popular for its delicate taste of chestnut paste from Ibaraki Prefecture squeezed into a 1mm slice.

Additive-free cakes served in a log house on the plateau

The store's best seller is the shortcake, which is simple but full of attention to detail.

Atelier Satou and Vanilla is a confectionery store that also sells gelato at an adjacent store. The concept is "a cake shop that makes you want to go all the way to a log house surrounded by nature". They believe that good taste is a matter of course, and they make completely additive-free cakes using safe ingredients that children and the elderly can eat with peace of mind. The chef, who worked as a pastry chef at a famous hotel in Tokyo, has confidently offered a variety of cakes, all of which have been developed to the utmost of taste. The shortcake, which is said to be a test of his skills, is made with minimal flour, and the sponge and whipped cream melt smoothly in the mouth, creating an impressive taste.

Gelato with the delicious taste of carefully selected ingredients

 Gelato
Gelato "Sarunashi" for 450 yen. Made with sarunashi (sarunashi) from Tamagawa Village in Fukushima Prefecture, a famous production area.

The adjacent "Additive-free Nasu Gelato" is also a gelato specialty store that focuses on completely additive-free products. The store offers about 14 varieties of gelato, with such oddities as "mulberry leaf" and "sarunashi (monkey pear)" attracting visitors' attention. Among them, the gelato made from "Sarunashi," a rare fruit that is the original species of kiwifruit, has a light aftertaste with a refreshing sourness and a hint of sweetness that spreads on the palate. You can enjoy the fresh sweet and sour taste of the fruit. Both stores offer sweets that maximize the deliciousness of the ingredients. We hope you will take the "trouble" to visit both shops and enjoy their sweets.

Local Guide Comment
The chef himself comes up with the menu of cakes and gelato based on his own vision of what he would like to taste. The sweets reflect the chef's keen sensibility, as he carefully selects ingredients that match those tastes.
