Local Guide FAQ

What do you recommend in the Kanazawa/Kaga area (places, experiences, food)?

On the high street, Kanazawa's Higashi-chaya-gai is a fun spot no matter how many times you visit. There are many hidden general stores and tea shops that you wouldn't notice if you were just passing by. Many traditional crafts such as unique Kutani ware, lacquer ware, and mizuhiki work are also gathered here, making it a great place to look for souvenirs.

Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.

We recommend the Hashidate Fishing Port, a 15-minute drive from Hoshino Resorts KAI Kaga. You can enjoy fresh seafood in a relaxed atmosphere while watching the rough waves of the Sea of Japan from a distance.
A short stroll around the port will take you to the Kitamaebune Museum, which houses a museum of the Kitamaebune that supported Kaga Hyakumangoku, and you can also enjoy exploring the history of the area. Since the area is not often mentioned in tourist books, there are not many tourists, and it is a great place to spend a relaxing time.

Where did you travel to last year and with whom?

My mother and I traveled to Matsumoto in the fall. I was impressed by the piano concert I heard in the moist autumn air. I am also into traveling alone in Europe, and last year I went to Scandinavia and Spain. I love Sweden and am becoming a heavy repeater.

What do you do on your days off?

I recently bought a car, so I find myself driving around. I am exploring Kaga, visiting stores that interest me and driving around aimlessly.

Is there anything you always take with you on a trip?

A single-lens reflex camera. When sightseeing, I stop many times for pictures. Often I left it behind before I knew it and almost got lost. ......
