Kanazawa's cafes and lunch spots for parents and children
Here are some cafes and lunch spots in Kanazawa that cater to families with children, with seating on small floors or sofas where parents and children can enjoy a leisurely meal together, and kids' spaces where children can play without hesitation. Many of them have cute looking and healthy kids' menus. Feel free to drop by with your family and enjoy a delicious meal in Kanazawa.
1Wood Style Cafe
Child-rearing café surrounded by the warmth of wood
When you take off your shoes and enter the restaurant, you will feel the refreshing scent of wood. As the restaurant is owned by a lumber company, Noto Hiba (Noto Hiba), which has antibacterial, deodorizing, and relaxing effects, is used abundantly in the flooring and walls. The aisles and seats are spacious, and small children can lie down or crawl on the floor. In addition to baby chairs, there are sofa seats for parents and children to enjoy their meals together. In the back, there is a kids' space with wooden play equipment. The warmth of the wood is soothing and they can play freely.
Kids will be satisfied with the cute kids' burgers!
The tables made of zelkova and ginkgo wood serve hearty dishes such as "vegetable soup lunch" and "BLTA sandwiches. For children, the "Kids Udon Plate" and "Kids Curry Plate" with juice and jelly are available. The popular "Kids Burger Plate" includes two mini burgers with a homemade hamburger steak in teriyaki sauce and chicken tempura sandwiched between buns baked in the bakery next door, fries, and more. For dessert, we recommend the brown rice amazake roll, which contains no sugar, eggs, or milk.

2Kanazawa Katsuzo Honten
Fully enjoy richly flavored Noto pork and seafood cutlets
This restaurant specializing in pork cutlets is located along Route 8 near the Ishikawa Prefectural Office. The signature menu item is the soft and tender Noto pork loin cutlet set meal. The pork loin, which has been aged to enhance its flavor, goes well with the coarse bread crumbs. The first bite is served with Noto salt, allowing you to enjoy the true flavor of the meat. As an affiliate of the popular conveyor-belt sushi restaurant Kanazawa Maimon Sushi, Gyokatsu, which uses seasonal seafood such as horse mackerel, shrimp, Noto mackerel, and Noto puffer fish, is also excellent. For children, we offer a "children's set" that includes Noto pork mince cutlet, fried shrimp, and fries.
Free refills of two kinds of rice and miso soup
The set meals come with free refills of cabbage, rice, and miso soup, so we recommend that parents and children enjoy sharing the set meal together. The rice is a blend of local "Koshihikari" and "Notohikari" rice, cooked fluffy in a rice cooker. In addition to white rice, seasonal rice such as wakame gohan (seaweed rice) is also available, so you will never get tired of tasting it. Two types of miso soup are available: pork miso soup and nori soup, which is also available at "Kanazawa Maimon Sushi". Katsu (pork cutlet) can be cut into small pieces upon request.
The restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate strollers, and box seats are popular with children.

4Gokayama Farm Restaurant
Enjoy "children's lunch" and "adult lunch" at the farm cafeteria
The owners are from the World Heritage-listed Gokayama Gassho-Zukuri Village in Toyama Prefecture, and opened this diner on the outskirts of Kanazawa City to share the culinary culture of Gokayama. The restaurant offers dishes that make the most of the flavors of the ingredients, using seasonal vegetables from their farm, eggs from red hens raised on a slope at an elevation of 550 meters, and "hard tofu," a local delicacy made from locally grown soybeans and water from the mountain's underground streams.
The "children's lunch" includes hijiki rice balls, tofu hamburger steak, tofu spring rolls, egg rolls, and other dishes designed with nutritional balance in mind. Udon noodles are also included, making it a hearty meal.
Relax in an atmospheric space like a mountain hut
For adults, there is also an "Adult Lunch. It includes a simple omelette rice wrapped in a richly flavored egg and topped with tomato sauce, a large fried shrimp, a tofu hamburger steak, and more, all on one plate.
The spacious interior, with log pillars from a log house in Gokayama, a staircase smoked with charcoal, and handmade tables, is decorated with a large wood stove and sunken hearth. Box seats with tatami mats laid out in a chaise longue style are ideal for small children. Picture books are also available for a relaxing time.

5Fruit Parlor Murata
Fruit parlor with a menu of children's favorites
Located on the second floor of a long-established fruit store established in 1914, the fruit parlor is always bustling with female customers of all ages. Although there is no kids-only menu, children's favorites such as hamburger steak curry, curry doria, and fruit sandwiches are on the menu. Particularly popular is the half-boiled egg omelet with ketchup rice topped with a soft and fluffy egg. The pudding a la mode, a homemade pudding topped with about eight kinds of fruit and sorbet, is beautifully cut and easy to eat, showing the skill of a fruit specialty restaurant.
Enjoy seasonal fruits in the brightly lit restaurant.
The restaurant is also popular for its seasonal parfaits, with 34 seasonal items on the menu each year, including the peach parfait, for which a long line is inevitable every summer. At lunchtime, customers can enjoy the "Fruit Lunch," which includes assorted fruits, bread, soup, salad, and a drink. In addition, a wide variety of other menu items are available, including cakes and fresh juices in which fruit is the main ingredient.
The restaurant has a large window overlooking the street and is spaciously laid out with plenty of seating space, allowing baby strollers to enter the restaurant except during busy times. A diaper changing area is also available.
