6 recommended restaurants for dinner in Chitose. From Genghis Khan to Seafood
Chitose City offers a variety of restaurants where you can taste the flavors of Hokkaido, from Genghis Khan to seafood, and we have selected some of the best places for dinner from within walking distance of JR Chitose Station or a 10-minute drive from the New Chitose Airport.
1Sushi Restaurant Hokuminohana
Taking advantage of the close proximity to the airport, ingredients are flown in from all over Japan.
This sushi restaurant has been a local favorite for over 20 years in Chitose's Shinbashidori shopping street. You can enjoy plenty of local Hokkaido seafood, such as sea urchin from Otaru (Otaru) in the summer, chip (hime-masu) from Lake Shikotsuko (Shikotsuko), and tachi (cod milt) in the winter.
Furthermore, taking advantage of its proximity to New Chitose Airport, the restaurant sources the finest ingredients from all over Japan by air every day, with conger eel being the most popular item among regular customers. We are particular about wild conger eel, and purchase from Toyosu Market, including those from Edo-mae and Tsushima in Nagasaki Prefecture. They select and nigiri the best fish of the season.
Omakase Course" featuring the specialties of our chefs.
The most popular course is the "omakase course" available only at the counter. The menu changes depending on the day's purchases, but the chef will serve you sashimi, a small bowl of cooked food, grilled dishes, nigiri, and other dishes at just the right time. There is no charge and no service fee.
In 2014, "I want to create the ultimate ideal restaurant," he opened "Kitanohana Hayashi" next to the restaurant, which has only eight counter seats. This restaurant is by reservation only and offers only a 10,000 yen omakase course (from October 2019, the price will be changed to 12,000 yen). Early reservations are recommended due to its popularity, as it was rated two stars in the "Michelin Guide Hokkaido 2017 Special Edition.

2Restaurant Akioka
The theme is "Eating Deliciously in Hokkaido.
Based on Northern Italian and French home cooking, this Restaurant has a reputation for dishes that bring out the best of the ingredients. About 90% of the ingredients, including vegetables, seafood, and meat, of course, come from Hokkaido, and the a la carte menu is assembled according to the day's procurement.
Particular emphasis is placed on Ezo sika deer designated as Akan's Tosai colt and Southdown breed lamb from Okita Farm in Hidaka Town, which is purchased by the head and cooked in a variety of ways from roasted to stewed. In addition, the menu includes seafood dishes from the Sea of Japan from Rumoi, all of which can only be enjoyed here once in a lifetime. Everything is homemade, from the main dish to the natural yeast bread to desserts.
Omakase menu prepared with ingredients delivered that day
We recommend the "Omakase Course" for total enjoyment, including meat and fish dishes as well as fresh vegetables procured from contract farmers. Available for both lunch and dinner, there are a total of four different courses ranging from 4,000 yen to 9,000 yen (tax not included), with a total of 7 to 10 dishes from hors d'oeuvres to pasta, main dish, and dessert. Due to the small number of Staff/staff members, all group members are required to order the same course. If there is something you are not fond of or something you would like to eat, it is a good idea to let them know when making a reservation. A wide variety of wines are available, from Hokkaido wines to French and Italian wines.

3Fresh Seafood and Wagyu Beef Aburiyaki Daichi no Blessing
Hokkaido's delicious food prepared over a charcoal fire
You can enjoy fresh seafood, Japanese beef, and vegetables grilled over charcoal. A la carte orders are available, but we recommend the course menu, which offers a well-balanced selection of various ingredients. The most popular "KIWAMI Course" features melt-in-your-mouth A5 rank Sendai Wagyu beef and a thick king crab leg. The shelled hokki-gai and scallops are boldly served with butter and soy sauce, while the flavorful mushrooms are grilled on a wheel. They go perfectly with the restaurant's original craft beer. Other dishes include a reasonably priced 3,900 yen course.
Enjoy the freedom to grill your own food!
Although the restaurant is located in the center of Chitose City, it is a house standing quietly in a grove of trees. The tables are arranged with a furnace in the center, and you can freely enjoy charcoal grilling by yourself. Unlike the direct flame of gas, which only cooks the surface of the food, the charcoal fire heats the inside of the food slowly using far-infrared rays without emitting steam, which brings out the best flavor of the ingredients. You can fully enjoy the delicacies of Hokkaido.
The restaurant is equipped with a smoke ventilation system, so there is no need to worry about the smell of the food being transferred to your clothes.

4Chitose Rum Kobo Yamajin
Freshness is assured by direct delivery from the butcher's workshop.
Jingisukan restaurant is located on Guion Street in downtown Chitose City. The meat comes directly from a butcher store specializing in lamb, so the quality of the meat is second to none. Rare parts of lamb, such as "lamb tongue," which is rarely distributed, are also on the menu.
The most popular dish is the "thick-cut cured lamb steak" served medium rare. The 2cm-thick raw lamb is so tender that everyone is surprised and says, "I have never had such juicy lamb meat. The freshness of the lamb means there is no odor, and once you try it, you will surely become a fan of lamb meat.
Finish off your Genghis Khan meal with udon noodles!
The "Agari Udon Sukiyaki-style" is recommended as a way to end the Genghis Khan meal. Udon noodles and green onions are placed in the groove of the pot and cooked with a special sauce, then dipped in beaten egg. It is exceptionally tasty and easy to eat even after a hearty meal of meat. Please try it.
For those who just want to eat and drink to their heart's content, an all-you-can-eat and drink plan is also available. There is also a sister yakiniku restaurant nearby, "Takibiya," where you can taste not only mutton but also Japanese black beef and Shiraoi beef as well.

Original smoked dishes are delicious!
This café bar is popular for its original menu featuring smoked salmon, chicken wings, nuts, and various other ingredients. The most popular dish is "smoked curry. This spicy and appetizing dish is made by simmering smoked ground beef with vegetables such as onions, carrots, and celery, and topped with two kinds of cheese. The restaurant also offers many other rare smoked dishes that can only be enjoyed here, such as "Smoked Bolognese" made with fresh pasta, "Smoked Meat Taco Rice" and "Smoked Tarako Rice.
Atmosphere that even first-timers can feel free to come in is also attractive
The name of the restaurant, Munchies, is English slang for "hungry and wanting a snack. It expresses the hope that customers will enjoy their meal in a casual manner. Perhaps because the owner is friendly and easy to talk to, 70% of the customers are women, making it easy for a woman to come in alone.
Outside the restaurant is a wooden deck that the owner built himself, and BBQ stoves are available. In summer, you can eat and drink outdoors. Inside, there is a bar corner stocked with spirits and liqueurs, and the all-you-can-drink self-serve bar (2,500 yen for 120 minutes), where you can make and drink not only beer and wine, but also cocktails and highballs, is very popular.
