Local Guide FAQ
- What do you recommend (places, experiences, food) in the area?
This is "Yonemasu" in the Fukushima area of Osaka. Yonemasu is a well-known restaurant among the locals, and the food prepared by Yonemasu, who hails from Honkozuki, is exquisite and satisfying for both body and soul, even if you are only eight portions full. Enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine to your heart's content in a restaurant where the ingredients and techniques shine through each dish and time passes peacefully. It is a place where you can enjoy a luxurious moment in the warm atmosphere unique to Osaka.
- Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.
Located in Yotsubashi, Osaka, Bar Nayuta is always fully booked, and about 90% of the customers who visit are from overseas. Although not well known in Japan or Osaka, it is a hole-in-the-wall bar that overseas drinkers always visit when they come to Osaka. There is no menu; you tell the bartender what you are in the mood for and what flavor you want to drink, and the bartender will create a delicious cocktail for you. It is a place where you can enjoy a special moment in an exotic atmosphere.
- Tell us about your most memorable trip, with whom and where you went!
When I was a university student, I traveled to Trawangan Island, Gili by boat from Bali, Indonesia, with my fellow study abroad students. The island's waters are as clear as mineral water, and the environment is thoroughly cared for. Transportation was by foot, bicycle, and horse-drawn carriage, and we spent an abundant amount of time in luxurious tropical-style hotels.
- What do you do on your days off?
On my days off, I live with nature and health, enjoying food from good producers, naturals wines, fasting and yoga. I especially cherish fasting because it allows me to detoxify so much that I can feel the additives I eat clinging to my tongue for a few days afterwards.
- Is there anything you always take with you on a trip?
DJI's Osmo Pocket 3, a small, palm-sized camera.
In "non-strenuous" scenes such as daily snaps and selfies, it produces stable, high-quality images without blurring, so I take pictures of delicious food and lovely scenery on my travels, edit them, and upload them to social networking sites.
