3 Recommended Cafes in Hachinohe
Hachinohe is a city where cafe hopping is a delight.
It is home to a variety of unique shops, including those where you can enjoy seasonal fruits, and others that take pride in their pancakes and espresso.
Here are 3 recommended cafes you should visit during your trip.
1Fruits & Parlor Odawara
A collection of carefully selected seasonal fruits
The abundance of fruit-based menu items—such as cakes, pancakes, French toast, waffles, and parfaits—is unique to a shop run by a greengrocer. Every item uses plenty of fruit, allowing you to enjoy an incredibly luxurious feeling. The most popular item is the "Special Fruit Mix Parfait," topped with about 10 types of fruit and two kinds of ice cream. The fruit sauces, such as strawberry and mango, are all made from fresh fruit, resulting in a truly satisfying taste. While the volume is enough to share between two people, many people finish it all by themselves.
A shop that fruit lovers won't be able to resist
During lunchtime, you can enjoy set menus such as fruit sandwiches and French toast topped with plenty of fruit. In addition to classics like matcha parfaits and pudding a la mode, seasonal items and those featuring "Sachinoka" strawberries from Hachinohe also appear. There is also a wide selection of fruit juices and shakes, making it hard to decide what to order.
Inside the shop, cakes for takeout, gift fruits, juices, baked goods, and other sweets are also sold, so you can pick up some souvenirs.

If you go up the slope from Hon-Hachinohe Station toward the city center, the shop will appear in front of the city hall. The seasonal fruits are all delicious, and I look forward to visiting every season. Recommended when exploring Hachinohe.

2Cafe×Cafe
A shop for espresso and handmade sweets
A cafe that opened in 2008 on Hanamizuki Street in Hachinohe City. Its pride is the espresso brewed with a machine from the Italian company La Marzocco. In addition to the standard cafe latte, the secret to its popularity is the ability to enjoy various flavored lattes such as caramel, hazelnut, strawberry, and coconut.
During lunchtime from 11:00 to 15:00, set menus such as focaccia and pizza toast are also popular. Two types of focaccia are available daily from a selection of eight, and you can also enjoy homemade desserts.
A cozy, hideaway-like cafe
Located in a corner of an old building, the long, narrow layout and wood-grain interior have a nostalgic feel, allowing you to relax comfortably even on your first visit. Handmade accessories are also sold in the shop.
Also, you definitely want to try the cakes here. The owner makes them by hand every day, and the daily recommendations are written on a small blackboard. Enjoy them with their signature espresso for a wonderful time.
3Deli cafe Perch
A cafe where "cute" meets "delicious"
The signature menu item is the pancakes, with their fluffy texture and subtle sweetness that you will find addictive.
The "Perch Special Pancakes," topped with plenty of berries, bananas, and more, are characterized by messages or illustrations drawn on the plate with chocolate sauce. They can also accommodate requests, making them very popular for girls' gatherings and families with children.
In addition, there is a wide variety of both sweet and savory options, such as caramel nut, azuki bean and matcha, smoked salmon and avocado, and curry & egg. The large selection of toppings, which allows you to explore your favorite flavors, is also a nice feature.
A shop packed with cafe delights
For a meal, we recommend the "Perch Plate," where you can enjoy four types of deli items, or the limited-quantity roast beef bowl. For sweets, they also have trendy items such as a toasted marshmallow "S'more" parfait and a sprout parfait that looks like a potted plant.
The owner is a "Certified Charabenist" who teaches how to make character bento boxes. Because of this, there are many fun presentations available, such as cute bento boxes, hors d'oeuvres, "pancake plates" decorated with chocolate sauce illustrations, and even "table art" where the entire table is decorated with food.
