Stylish cafe that recreates the world of the movie "Kamome Shokudo".
This café was inspired by the “Kamome Shokudo” featured in the movie set in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Its simple, glass-walled exterior perfectly captures the atmosphere of the film. Inside, the space is decorated with Nordic furniture, tableware, and Moomin merchandise, making it a delight just to admire the interior design.
The food menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including doria, pasta, gratin, and sandwiches. A pleasant time spent in a café in the forest
Located in the woods along the Chitose River, this café doubles as a photo gallery run by a famous wildlife photographer. You can enjoy tea and meals while spotting wild birds through the windows. We recommend the “Long-tailed Tit Soft-Serve,” inspired by small birds. This soft-serve, made with pasteurized milk from Hokkaido, is served with a cocoa biscotti.The “Ezo Squirrel Soft-Serve,” modeled after the adorable Ezo squirrel, is also popular and is a favorite treat enjoyed between bird-watching sessions.
Lunch is served from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. One of the unique charms of this café is the opportunity to spend a leisurely time gazing at the forest scenery where wild birds visit.
Enjoy spotting wild birds and Ezo squirrels through the window
Birdhouses are placed in the trees visible from the windows of the cafe, and bird tables (feeding stations) are set up near the windows. If you sit at the counter by the window, you can see wild birds and Ezo squirrels that have come to feed at close range. During the winter season, if you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the striped enaga, the snow fairy.
There is also an observation hut in the back of the café where you can take pictures of wild birds, and Guest/customers bring their cameras. In the gallery, visitors can take their time to view photos taken by the owner of the cafe, including those of the red-crowned nightingale and Blakiston's fish owl.

A retro Showa-era coffee shop with a reputation for its food
This retro Showa-era coffee shop was established in 1974. The coffee is, of course, roasted in-house. While most major coffee makers roast their coffee using hot air, Toa Coffee House insists on direct roasting to bring out the aroma and richness of the coffee by heating the coffee to the core of the bean.
The meal menu is also popular, with many Guest/customers coming for the morning set from 8:00 to 11:00 and lunch from 11:00 to 14:00 on weekdays. The menu is as extensive as a Western-style restaurant, with items ranging from daily lunch specials to doria, curry, pilaf, pasta, and more. The atmosphere is easy to enter even for a single woman.
