4Treasure Stone Park, a jewelry search
The excitement never stops! Dig and find your own gems
Visitors can experience the search for gemstones at a mining site that is reminiscent of a mine. Visitors are given a shovel and bucket to actually dig for crystals, amethysts, and other power gemstones within a time limit. Visitors can take home the stones they find as souvenirs. There are two mining areas: the "Underground Mine," which requires advance reservations, and the "Valley of Crystals/Crystal River," where visitors can register on the day of the tour. In the "Underground Mine," visitors go underground in a dimly lit tunnel and work together as a team to mine power stones. Since there is only one team per mining site, the whole family can enjoy the experience together.
Children and adults alike will be playing like crazy before you know it!
In the Crystal River, visitors can search for sparkling gems at the bottom of a 60-meter-long river. You can play here without reservations. While watching children playing, adults will be itching to play, too. The greatest appeal of this Property is that visitors of all ages can become enthralled. Other exciting spots include the "Quartz Geode Cracking Experience," where you can find crystals overflowing with dazzling light by crushing rugged stones, and the "Crystal River Specimen Room," where you can observe mined stones with a magnifying glass. Mineral lovers will not want to miss this.

A museum full of your favorite characters. Art exhibition "My Neighbor Totoro's Stuffed Toy Exhibition"

6Nasu Insect World
Let's learn about rare insects from around the world while looking at real ones!
Mr. Toshihiko Narikawa, the director of "Nasu Insect World," opened his own museum four years ago out of his love of insects. The museum, which includes an exhibition area, a maze where visitors answer insect quiz questions, and a store, is filled with ideas for learning about insect ecology in a fun way. The main exhibition area features an array of specimens of beetles, stag beetles, and scarab beetles from Asia, Africa, North and South America, and other species. There is also a collection of rare species such as the world's longest stick insect, which is about 30 centimeters long, and the giant Riocco cricket. There is also a petting zoo* where visitors can directly touch the insects.
*Suspended due to the Corona disaster, but scheduled to reopen after November 2021.
The special prize is a Hercules beetle! Participatory events are very popular with children!
At the store, visitors can purchase a wide variety of insects, including those not sold at most home improvement stores. The insect raffle, which costs 500 yen per draw, is a no-lose event, and the special prize is a Hercules beetle, the world's longest species of beetle. At the event corner, visitors can fish for beetles from July to early September, and have the experience of digging for larvae around that time. The larvae will hatch over the course of a year, and visitors are encouraged to bring them to the Property by the end of August, with the Hercules beetle being awarded to the person who can grow the largest.
