Kids will be thrilled with lunch delivered by a D51 steam locomotive

A facility located along the road called "Rindo Line," lined with buildings modeled after electric locomotives and train stations. In the restaurant, tracks run through the center of the dining area, and a meticulously crafted 1/5 scale D51 locomotive delivers orders to the tables. The seating area is equipped with station name signs from the Tohoku Main Line and Yamanote Line, as well as railway signals, creating a highly immersive atmosphere. The menu includes "Kids' Lunch" with hamburger steak and omelets, and the "Shimofuri Steak" is also reputed to be delicious.

For snack time in Nasu, go for these waffle-style treats with a new texture

Look for the white container marked "GOOD NEWS." This extremely popular Nasu souvenir is so sought after that there are sometimes lines before it even opens. Its appeal lies in a new texture: a milk-rich, caramel-like jam made primarily from skim milk, sandwiched between butter-scented waffle wafers. The product was developed from a desire to make delicious and efficient use of the skim milk left over from butter production in Nasu, a region with many dairy farmers. It is a sweet born from trial and error under the supervision of the owner-chef of a restaurant in Yoyogi-Hachiman, Tokyo.
Donuts and other items are also sold in the store. You can enjoy snack time in the eat-in space with a drink.

This is Japan's first "agritourism resort" where you can experience seasonal farm work. On a sprawling 140,000-square-meter property featuring beautiful, untouched forests and streams, you can enjoy a fulfilling hotel stay with activities that are easy for kids to join, as well as meals that make the most of rich, local ingredients.

Guest rooms are located in the main building, where sophisticated structures stand among lush trees, and in the annex, which is situated by the river and offers a more immersive nature experience. For families, we recommend the "Annex Deluxe Garden." It can accommodate up to four people, making it convenient for those traveling with infants or on multi-generational trips.

Play to your heart's content with net playground equipment about 6.5m high and a ball pool

On the way from the main building to the annex, you will see three "bumpy" roofs. The "Play Area" inside this "POKO POKO" facility features floor-to-ceiling net play equipment, a ball pit, and bouldering, creating a space where moms and dads can play along too. You can have a great time here even on rainy days.

Search for forest treasures in the "Forest Treasure Hunt" activity!

Head out into nature with a "treasure list" of things to find in the forest and a basket in hand. You will search for "forest treasures" while paying attention to things you might usually overlook, such as the tips of plant branches or the soil at your feet. You might even see heartwarming scenes of families competing to see who can find the most.

Located next to the reception, "SHAKI SHAKI" is an Italian buffet restaurant that makes the most of fresh vegetables and high-quality ingredients. There are kid-favorites like fried chicken, french fries, and children's curry, as well as a wide selection of sweets like soft-serve ice cream.

20:00 Public Bath

Soak in the Nasu hot springs and reset from the fatigue of your activities

After dinner, head to the large public bath located on the floor below the restaurant. Nasu Onsen, loved by many for generations, is a volcanic hot spring brought forth by Mount Chausu, the main peak of the Nasu mountain range. It is gentle on the skin, easy to soak in, and warms the body thoroughly. There is also an open-air bath facing the forest, where the comfort of the night breeze is exceptional.

A breakfast of fresh vegetables to wake up your body and get you energized

The morning buffet features a menu that will make you want to eat heartily, from fresh, crisp vegetables and fruits to mini breads and Japanese dishes. It is also a delightful service to encounter local delicacies, such as small bottles of Jersey milk delivered from the farm and rusks from "Butter no Itoko."

Try your hand at "lumberjack fire-starting" while learning traditional wisdom

Experience starting a fire using firewood and matches. You will gather "secret ingredients" from the forest to use instead of fire starters, and learn how to arrange the firewood as you build the fire. With tasks like striking matches, using bellows, and operating a log splitter, many "first-time" experiences await you.

Discover new charms of Satoyama nature with a "Morning Forest Walk"

A walking tour that takes you from the forest within the facility to the farm, guided by friendly staff. The morning forest is exceptionally beautiful with its greenery and flowers, filled with birdsong, and you might even discover traces of animals that were active at night. After participating, you will feel that nature is much closer to you.

10:00 Agri-Garden

The highlight of the trip: the "Farmers Lesson" agricultural experience

An activity you must experience at Risonare Nasu. Held at the farm on the premises, where over 120 types of vegetables and herbs are grown annually, you can experience the necessary farm work for the day, from making fertilizer to sowing seeds and harvesting. Since the staff provides gentle lessons, even small children can participate with peace of mind.

Handmade and piping hot—the best taste: "Stone Oven Pizza Making"

Pizza making where you stretch the chewy dough by hand and enjoy topping it with vegetables, mozzarella cheese, and more. Once baked all at once in a stone oven at approximately 480°C, a fragrant pizza with concentrated vegetable flavors is complete. You can eat it fresh from the oven at the cafe inside POKO POKO.

13:35 Nasu Rice Bakery

Chewy rice bread made with Nasu-grown rice flour and raw milk

A rice flour bakery located in a lush green setting across from the Nasu Stained Glass Museum. Each item is handmade using "Asahi no Yume" rice grown in Nasu by the owner's family, along with raw milk pasteurized at low temperatures in the shop. The breads, which contain over 80% rice flour, have a fluffy and chewy texture. In addition to "Rice Bread," which allows you to simply enjoy the flavor of the flour, there are 40 to 50 varieties available daily, including savory breads filled with Nasu-produced sausages and vegetables. You can also buy coffee or soft-serve ice cream with your bread and enjoy them on the outdoor terrace.

14:30 Nasu Animal Kingdom

A zoo where you can meet over 600 animals from all over the world

A zoo set in a vast, lush green area with clear air, where you can not only observe animals but also enjoy various experiences like interacting with and feeding them. It is divided into two zones: "Kingdom Town," which has roofed paths for almost the entire route, making it safe even in rain or midsummer, and "Kingdom Farm," where you can observe animals moving dynamically. There are plenty of events such as fur seal, hawk, and eagle performances, as well as penguin feeding, so it is recommended to check the schedule while you explore. If you ride the "Kingdom Lift" within the park, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Nasu Highlands.
Strollers are allowed in most areas of the park. There are three nursing rooms and diaper-changing stations are also provided.
