What are your recommended spots in the Kanazawa area?: Kenrokuen, one of Japan's three most beautiful gardens, is a must-visit. I often go for walks there because it's enjoyable in every season. Just looking at the beautifully manicured garden clears my mind, and since the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa is right in front of it and the Higashi Chaya District is just a short walk away, I think it's the perfect starting point for sightseeing.

Please secretly tell us some hidden gems that only a local would know.: The Kanazawa izakaya 'Sake to Shokuyujin Minato' is a place my family and I visit often. You can enjoy delicious seafood dishes, and they have a set that lets you compare 20 different types of sake, so you can really immerse yourself in Ishikawa's local brews. The heartwarming service from the owner and his wife is also a big draw.

What is a trip that remains in your memory?: It was Chiang Mai, Thailand, which I visited with a friend. I wanted to see the lantern festival that inspired the Disney movie 'Tangled,' so I planned the trip more than half a year in advance. I don't think I will ever forget the beautiful scenery I watched all night long.

How do you spend your days off?: On my days off, I mainly go for walks in search of wonderful things and experiences. I visit shops recommended by acquaintances, newly opened cafes, and restaurants I've been curious about. If I have a long weekend, I'll jump on a train and travel further away.

Is there anything you always bring with you when you travel?: It's a bit cliché, but my smartphone. When I travel, I put my travel plans into an app called 'nicody' and follow a packed, ambitious schedule. By the way, I used to make 'travel bookmarks' on paper in an analog way. Whether it's paper or an app, travel is exciting from the planning stage!
