A popular choice is Yamanashi Prefecture’s original brand salmon, “ Fujiinosuke」 ,” served as the main dish on a platter alongside rice balls and other sides. You can savor the unique aroma of charcoal grilling and the rich umami of the salmon. The rice is cooked in a traditional clay pot to bring out its natural sweetness. You can also enjoy meat dishes such as Shinshu beef and Kome pork.

"Ai to Ibaguchi," a renowned French restaurant in Sangenjaya, Tokyo, relocated to Yatsugatake and reopened in 2017 under the new name "Terroir Ai to Ibaguchi."Housed in a beautifully renovated 180-year-old traditional Japanese house, the restaurant offers classic and modern course meals featuring seasonal ingredients, paired with Yamanashi wines.The restaurant sources carefully selected vegetables nurtured by Yatsugatake’s rich natural environment and meticulous cultivation, as well as mushrooms foraged by experts, game meat, and river fish. These ingredients, delicious even on their own, are transformed into unique and special dishes through the chef’s creative vision and skilled craftsmanship.

Authentic tastes of the seasons from an early age

Even when the restaurant was located in Tokyo, it had a reputation for being baby-friendly, and that commitment has not changed since relocating to Yatsugatake.There are four types of children’s course menus tailored to different age groups, including “MogMog” for children aged 10 months to 2 years and “Kids” for ages 3 to 7. Each menu features different dishes and quantities, such as risotto, soup, and a main course. The texture and portion sizes are adjusted to suit the child’s age and preferences.Just like the adult dishes, every dish uses carefully selected, seasonal ingredients from the Yatsugatake region, so even babies can enjoy them with peace of mind.

Our lunchtime recommendation is a main dish with a choice of meat or pasta. For an additional 1,000 yen, a set meal includes a mini salad, savory bread, and your choice of soft drink or house wine.

The meat dish that adults should definitely try is the grilled pork. The more you bite into it, the more the pork flavor pops in your mouth.

Thick steaks served in a log house-style building are popular

The restaurant offers a steak-centered course menu in a log house-style building. The restaurant is especially proud of its beef stew, made with Koshu wine beef simmered in a homemade demi-glace sauce. Another popular lunch menu item is the reasonably priced sirloin steak. The more you bite into it, the more the flavor spreads in your mouth. We recommend enjoying your lunch time with a glass of Yamanashi wine in hand.

Authentic kids' plates

The Kids’ Plate is particularly popular with families. It features a colorful assortment of dishes, including a mini hamburger steak made with “Koshu Wine Beef” that’s full of natural sweetness, homemade sausages, fried shrimp, and dessert.Although this menu is limited to children 6 and under, the quality is so high that even adults might be tempted to order it. The restaurant is equipped with high chairs and children’s tableware for younger guests, and a nice touch is that slightly older children are served with their own silver cutlery. The terrace seating is pet-friendly, making it a popular spot for guests traveling with their pets.

“ROCK” opened in 1971 as Kiyosato’s first coffee shop. It’s such a popular spot that waiting one to two hours during peak seasons is not uncommon.The main attractions are the “ROCK Beef Curry,” whose flavor has remained unchanged since the shop’s founding, and the award-winning craft beers. The “ROCK Beef Curry,” served on a single plate with both curry and salad, is not only visually striking but also absolutely delicious, featuring tender, slow-simmered beef and plenty of locally sourced vegetables.In the basement brewery, they brew “Yatsugatake Beer Touchdown,” and the fact that you can enjoy this beer—still alive with yeast—straight from the tap is sure to delight beer lovers.

During peak seasons and other busy periods, they offer a service where they’ll call you when a table is ready, allowing you to explore Kiyosato or wait in your car—all without having to stand in line.
Popular items on the kids’ menu include the “Kids’ Curry,” which is mild and sweet with less spice. The restaurant is fully equipped with children’s chairs, table chairs that attach to sofa seats, a nursing room, and a diaper-changing station, making it a comfortable place to visit even with infants.
