Hachinohe

Hachinohe is a port town that boasts one of the largest fish catches in Japan, and its markets and morning markets attract many people in search of fresh fish. Hachinohe has such a long history that three of Aomori Prefecture's national treasures are located in Hachinohe, and traces of this history can be seen at the Kushibiki Hachiman Shrine and the Hachinohe Sanja Grand Festival, a major festival. Other unusual sights not to be missed include Kabura-shima, a breeding ground for petrels, and the Tomb of Christ.
