The twin-tower high-rise hotel rises from the earth and seems to blend into the sky, and pools and spas are scattered throughout the vast grounds. Resort stays can be enjoyed throughout the season, from the "UNKAI Terrace" in summer, where you can gaze at a sea of clouds, to the slopes in winter, where the real pleasure of powder snow is unforgettable.

Local Guide FAQ
- What do you recommend in the Tomamu area (places, experiences, food)?
We recommend Yakiniku Shu, a yakiniku restaurant in Kamifurano Town, located between Tomamu and OMO7 Asahikawa by Hoshino Resorts. The meat is freshly procured directly from the butcher store and grilled slowly over a shichirin grill.
- Please sneak in some hole-in-the-wall places that you know because you live there.
The ramen at Menya Rei, a ramen shop about 15 minutes by car from New Chitose Airport, is excellent. The soy sauce ramen in a thick pork bone and seafood broth is refreshing, and the interior is stylishly decorated so that women and families can visit. It is a famous and popular local restaurant, and it is not unusual for the restaurant to close as soon as the soup runs out, so we recommend that you visit early in the day. It is also a good place to spend some free time before your flight.
- Where did you travel to last year and with whom?
I took a family trip to Okinawa for my sister's wedding. We went snorkeling in the blue cave at Cape Maeda in the early morning, and the sky blue ocean we saw in the blue cave was exceptional. We dived at many different spots, but I especially recommend this spot.
- What do you do on your days off?
My wife and I drive and spend time with our 2 year old daughter. I enjoy watching baseball games, so after returning home, I relax with a beer in my hand and watch my favorite Orix team on TV.
- Is there anything you always take with you on a trip?
I always carry a laptop computer with me so that I can look up fresh information on both domestic and overseas trips. Basically, when I travel, I do my research locally and make a schedule.
